Stock gauge cluster
I've been toying around for a while about replacing all of the stock gauges (speedo, tach, oil psi, water temp, fuel level) with some autometer ultra lite ones, to match my current setup. But, I am not quite sure what size to use. I'd assume you cut the stock cluster up, with the current holes just bored out, and you fit in the autometer gauges. Problem I see is that the tach and speedo seem to be wider then they are tall. Making it kinda ob-long. I can see the smaller 2 1/4" series of gauges working, but what about the tach n speedo? Also, can I cut all the way through, not worrying about the green electronic board behind it, or will I run into issues there? I assume so, because the sensors and warning lights all use that green "motherboard" too. Anyone else ever do this?

Re: Stock gauge cluster
Btw, I know it's been done, like replacing just the water temp and oil psi gauge, and I know someone made a whole new bezel with aluminum, and ran the autometer phantom gauges. I wanna know if I can use the stock cluster as my "base" or template.
