3.09/Gal for 87 WTF!!!

WTF!!!!!! I went to the gym this morning and the SA by me had reg. for 3.09/g that would mean that 92 is 3.29/g fuck that shit.
What is the price for race gas, 110 and whatever else cause it might just be worth saying fuck 92 and going with one of the above.
I hate whoever is doing this shit.
What happened to the days of filling the tank with $20 and having enough change to get you and your buddy something to drink and eat.
Rant done.

I dunno, but it too is pissing me off. IF I sold the dsm, this would be the reason why. big injectors, big pump, and a decent drive to work= owned.

Cry about it, In Cali the prices have been more then that for months now. $3.56/gal is normal for premium.

Exactly. My Gixxer gets about 40mpg even when I am driving it hard. I drove my GTP for the first time in five weeks the other day.

GTP=$55 per week to drive to work
GSXR 600=$13 per week to drive to work

Seems like a no brainer to me.

I want a bike soo bad. My stock DSM even gets shitty gas mileage. Worse when I beat on it....

Re: 3.09/Gal for 87 WTF!!!

Tauni you can get a nice moped that would be the perfect size for you. :)

a while ago I was joking around with some friends about getting a moped and one of those cowboy hats that doubles as a helmet and rollin around on that.

for some odd reason, I think i'll end up with a moped before the summer ends :-D

49.5 cc's wouldn't be too bad.

When I move out to San Diego this fall for school I'm definitely buying a bike.

But yea, now that WWIII is starting in the Middle East gas is just up, up, and away!

Ya it's starting to get on my nerves now too. But I guess I don't see a motorcycle being my answer. The money I'd save on gas, I think would be countered by my extra monthly insurance payment, plus the fact that I'd be dropping a few grand just to purchase it as well.

110 will usually be double the price of 87.

$6 my friend...

111 was 4.99/gallon Saturday.

Re: 3.09/Gal for 87 WTF!!!

Yeah there is some initial cost to getting a bike. However if your good at math it doesn't take a genious to figure out that you can more than make up for the cost of the bike and insurance by saving on gas. And the fact that I don't see gas coming down significantly anytime soon you are not wasting money.

Put it this way.

Mike bike was about 3 grand, I payed cash for it but even if I did finance it the payment would only be about 70 dollars. The insurance is about 35 dollars a month. So thats around 100 dollars.

Just to drive to work it was costing me about 240 dollars a month, the motorcycle cost me about 50 bucks. You figure it out. I also drive it everywhere else, to run errangs or whatever. Yeah you need a car sometimes but if you aren't a pussy you can drive a motorcycle everywhere providing the weather isn't a hurricane.

Re: 3.09/Gal for 87 WTF!!!

I can see how it'd work for you. But if I look at it for myself it's a little different. First I get a little different gas milage in my little 4cyl Galant compared to your GTP, plus the fact that I drive about 1/3 the distance to work everyday as you do. Sounds like it works great for you though.

I was trying to compute the mileage for my bike and I got an error message. :D I don't commute on this thing as much as I should, but I do ride it to the gym. Maybe once the weather cools down a little, I'll commute more.

I heard nash or jet got like 30-35 mpg on the way back from the shoot out 3 or 4 years ago.

Anyone one hear of the Revopower wheel?

http://www.revopower.com

basically it's a self contained motor + wheel that bolts up to any standard bike. 200 mpg est.

Who's going to be the first to mod it?

Re: 3.09/Gal for 87 WTF!!!

Eh, I saw it for 3.09 in eden prairie, and a few blocks down the road it was 2.91, just gotta know where to shop I guess.

Edit: Just checked and there was one station reported at 3.10, otherwise 3.09 was the highest price reported in the cities on twincitiesgasprices.com

Re: 3.09/Gal for 87 WTF!!!

Whatever maybe i should get a little bike. ( i can't ride bikes due to lack of testicular fortitude & i almost killed myself on one a couple years back)
