Back In Teh Game
4 Attachment(s)
I have a real DSM again!!!!
The galant is down for the count, so in the mean time I picked up a beater: 1990 TSi AWD $700 The Good: Timing belt job from mitsu a couple months ago Great Oil Pressure Great dark cloth interrior Pioneer 6 CD changer Tranny shifts 9/10 Car starts right up every time High Oil Pressure New Radiator New alternator NO LEAKS The Bad: 180k (motor doesnt show it, feels great, oil clean) Windshield cracked Rust on the fenters (not much on underside however) Turbo froze (looking for replacement 14b/16g) The timing belt snapped and it sat for several years because owner didnt know what was wrong ---THE VALVES WERE NOT CRUSHED---- Thats why I am going to call it "lucky" |
Re: Back In Teh Game
I may have a 14b for you, but it needs a re-build and an exhaust housing.

Re: Back In Teh Game
Not a bad car for $700 at all! Let me know if you want to sell it and make a profit ;)

Re: Back In Teh Game
Horse cock shifter even. Lucky you.

Re: Back In Teh Game
Well Well Alex,
Its nice to see you in a 2 door again. I remember the red TSI back in the day. Ah the memories of what started it all. -Alex Green |
Re: Back In Teh Game
Damn thats a steal! Nice!
|
Re: Back In Teh Game
green: you euro-loving traitor - I thought you were going into the marines and you just bought your TSi to "hold you over till you left" since your JETTaaaaah exploded? whats going on? are you keeping it? do you LIKE dsm's now?
Yeah, I think it was a pretty nice steal, since so much work was done to it. I am a little suspecisous that the owner replace the cracked manifold and then the turbo stopped running....hmm |
Re: Back In Teh Game
Oh, since its a '90 and the electronics are pretty stupid I think I will megasquirt this car, a whole lot cheaper then a EPROM ecu or DSM Link. Wish me luck.

Looks good man, excellent deal. I think that color is nasty but for $700 who cares? |
Re: Back In Teh Game
We have a 14b center section and compressor cover, $50. You re-use your exhaust housing.

However from the picture it looks like you are either missing a turbo bolt or the bolt broke off inside the turbine housing. If its broken inside the turbine housing you will need to drill it out and tap for a helicoil. |
Re: Back In Teh Game
Thanks for the offers....when school is over for me on friday, im gonna take the radiator off, and pull the turbo and see whats up, I might pull the Big16G off the galant and slap it on my new talon.
I have always wanted to put a 50 trim on the galant so this is a good excuse to do it! |
Re: Back In Teh Game
you suck mang, thats my favorite color DSM in the world.
Good luck with it. Havnt seen you online much? been busy? |
Re: Back In Teh Game
my beloved volkswagens never exploded on me I sold them because I was bored with driving the same car for 6 months. I have gone through 5 cars in 2 1/2 years.
its no TSI its the rare AWD turbo laser that I drive with about 97k on the odo. I'm keeping it but it is for sale if anybody wants to buy it. DSM's are nice they just require more time and money than any other car I have ever had. INCLUDING my dodge truck with 291k. the car runs nice on my mixture of 100 and 92 octane from the shell in Rogers though. -Alex |
Re: Back In Teh Game
That DSM was a heck of a deal. Congrats on the purchase!!
