As some of you know, I was in a accident with my white 96 GSX a couple weeks ago. A lady ran a redlight downtown Minneapolis and hit me. The car is getting totalled. Here are the pics of the damage:
http://www.mn3s.org/eclipse-damage/ As luck would have it, I was in the middle of looking at a super low mileage black 97 GSX. I don't know exactly how much I'll be getting for my old Eclipse yet, but I couldn't waite any longer on the 97 GSX. There was another buyer. So, on Saturday, I purchased this black 97 GSX with only 18,700 miles on it! Here are some pics: http://mn3s.org/PA190030.JPG http://mn3s.org/PA190031.JPG http://mn3s.org/PA190032.JPG The thing still smells new!! later, Curt http://www.mn3s.org |
That sucks that the old got totalled, but that new one is nice!
|
Sweet find! May I ask how you found it, and where it was located? My roommate wants a car exactly like that, but doesn't have any luck finding one.
|
Excellent purchase Curt!!!! :D Now you have what, 3 black cars? Was it a local purchase?
|
Sweet find. It gave you a reason to get rid of that ugly 95-96 one. Now you can make this one faster than the 3/S's ;)
|
I like the new one a lot. I dont like the 95-96 ones with the low wing spoiler much(looks wise). With those miles, that must have cost a lot.
|
Looks like you definitely found a "diamond in the ruff."
|
That new one of yours is sharp!
|
That is sweet Curt! Gratz!!

i have one question for curt, where do you get all of your damn money, seriously. help me out here cut me in on something.

Thanks for all the great replies. As you can guess, black is my favorite color, so that makes this new one extra sweet! I found it on the Autotrader. I'm out there looking every week or so. Whether I'm ready to buy one or not. This one was in Elk River. Can't get much more local than that. ;)
Its kind of an interesting story with this car. A year and a half ago, I had a chance to buy this GSX from its original owner when it only had 11,000 miles on it. The original owner just took awesome care of this thing, but he was asking a premium for it. ($17,500) I gave him a low ball offer and he ended up selling it to the person in Elk River that I bought it from. I did spend about $2,000 over book value to get this thing, but with only 18,700 miles on it, its well worth it. You don't get too many chances at a second bite of the same apple. It has a few minor mods like strut bars and gauges and an intake. But thats perfect for me. It has no mods that might shorten its lifespan, if you know what I mean. I really like the look of the 97-99 over the 95-96 too. Especially the front bumper. Its not really about having a lot of money. All of my cars have only BPU type mods, so I really haven't spent that much money into modding them. My investments into my current cars can be traced back six years ago, so it took awhile to get to this point. Most of my disposable income goes into my cars and virtually nothing else. The Mitsu obsession is very addicting. :toast: later, Curt http://www.mn3s.org |
You just got my dream car! If I could have any dsm it would be your exact car! Black and 97-99. Especally like the 97 since it is exactly like my brothers car when it was stock 3 years ago but with 14k less miles.
I'll make a deal with you..... You put a car cover on that baby, put it in a barn or garage for 10 years and I'll give you more than you got it for! HUH? got a deal? lol jk.... man that is a nice find... Finding that is like finding a needle in a haystack.... or ten haystacks lol. |
Curt if you see anyone parked in front of your place in a blue truck rocking back and forth while your cars are outside.... don't mind me! Sweet find. Can't belive it was so local.

Curt has disposable income because he doesn't pay rent or own a house, he lives in his cars. It's like a 3-bedroom pad if you park all three next to each other. And he eats ramen noodles that he heats up on his exhaust manifold. I'm sure the IT thing doesn't hurt either. :stick:
BTW, thanks for the alternator belt. I owe ya one. ;) |
