AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

Right now I have AEM EMS and got an offer for it. With that money I could buy Tein flex coilovers and an Eprom ECU and still have like $100-$200 depending on what kind of deals I get. Or I could waste all my money on a DNP manifold and O2 housing and SS lines for turbo and like "big brake" upgrade. What would be better? What would you guys do? I NEED HELP!

What mods do you have currently? You could be throwing an AEM in a stock car for all we know.

If you really have to ask, im sure you could sell the AEM and get DSMLink and be perfectly fine.

Re: AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

Well right now no need for the AEM. But in a couple weeks Ill have:
20G
650CC injectors
FMIC
6Bolt
Clutch
Flywheel
Aeromotive FPR
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Dejon intake
Ported 2G mani
Ported 2G O2
Apexi GT O2 back
Tial 38MM
GM Maft
Maft
SAFCII
Thats about it. I got a hell of a deal on the AEM and It would be worthless for me to go DSMlink if I sell it beacuse I would cost like 400 less and Id rather have AEM then DSMLink

If you wanted a 2g eprom, My brother has a 2g socketed one with a chip in it he would sell for $200 plus a non-eprom.

If you ditch the AEM and don't get an eprom from James & John, I also have one I'd part with. $240 shipped :D

I've got a DSMLink/MAFT set-up I could trade you for the EMS.

I already have a buyer for the AEM he said to give him a week to get the money together.

If you are wondering why I dont go with DSMlink... DSMLink +eprom = about $700-$800. Cost of my AEM $900(brand new). Pointless to downgrade for a simple $100-$200.

I have my sources! AKA ebay. All the seals are still on it and everything.

Re: AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

Why are you selling the aem then if you don't want to downgrade?

Re: AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

I dont know if I need It right now. Im all confused. I was thinking I could just tune it with an SAFCII and wideband.

Re: AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

you would probably want to monitor knock also.

Re: AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

How do you do that in a 2g? I thought the knock sensors werent good or didnt tell you the right stuff. anyways I do have a datalogger too but i dont think that has a knock value on it.

Re: AEM EMS Vs. Tein Flex Coilovers

The knock sensors on the 2G are very good(1G guys with AEMs switch to the 2G knock sensor). But you need DSMLink to see knock with the 2G ECU. Don't expect to be able to easily tune by knock with an AEM EMS, like you can with DSMLink or a 1G datalogger. The knock sensor is a microphone, with the AEM EMS, you can see the output from the knock sensor, but you will simply see every noise the engine makes as an amount of voltage. You then have to use your own judgement to decide if you think the voltage at X RPM is knock instead of just normal engine noise. The stock ECUs have complex filtering to help it ignore sounds that aren't in the correct frequency range or aren't happening at the right time to even be knock.
