Tattoo Shops
I'm going to be looking at getting a memorial tattoo soon and was curious who people here might suggest going to. This would be my first and I don't know much about any local parlors and I know less about what places hurt more than others on the body.
Any comments and direction would be nice. I would need to go somehwere where they would be artistic enough to put some of their own thoughts, ideas, and design skill into the process while still allowing me to walk out with something I will be able to live with forever. |
Re: Tattoo Shops
I have a tattoo on my chest, it didn't really hur that much. I got it done at A-1 tattoo in St. Paul. It was a pretty good expierence there. I wanna get another one, but this time I was thinking about going to Forever Your's, in Anoka. They have really good artists there.

Re: Tattoo Shops
A-1 seemed all right. I like the place on Snelling near University (can't remember the name right now).
Tat's By Zap also does good work. |

Re: Tattoo Shops
I went to Saint Sabrina's Tatoo Parlor in Purgatory in Uptown. There did an excellent job on the underside of my arm and a lot of my friends have tats from there. Such good work, and they've also been featured in the MPLS/ST.PAUL magazine too. I highly recommend it.

I would suggest either InkTaylor or Electric Dragonland in Hopkins.

Re: Tattoo Shops
I went to a place called Steady on the U of M campus. I don't know street names, but I know how to get there if I see the streets. Anyways, if you go there, they have a few excellent artists who leave books out with picutres of the really good shit they have done. The aprentice there is also really good. Cerny did mine. I would suggest that place. They made me feel really comfortable because I was so freaked out.

Re: Tattoo Shops
I think I am going to swing over to the Ink Taylor soon and see if I can get a few more views at some work and ideas on a design.
One thing I don't know is cost, are tattoos spendy? THis one will probably be 4 or 5 inches tall by 6 or 7 inches wide and to start with all black and white with lots of shading. |
Re: Tattoo Shops
Tramp stamp Allan? :) haha jk.

Re: Tattoo Shops
Yeah, I have been down to the Ink Tailor (about a mile from my house) and he does some very nice work. He has a hell of a reputation for only being around a couple of years! One of the best places in the nation is the Dragon's Den in Owatonna, he has been in many magazines and has people fly in from all over the world.
As far as placement, get it somewhere with a decent amount of muscle. I got mine when I was really skinny on my shoulder blade and it hurt like hell. The needle was hitting the bone. I was only about 140 lbs at the time, so I was really skinny. Upper arm is probably the least painful. |
