Pulled my oil pan tonight...

Well I didn't get the motor out tonight, but I did pull the pan.

http://www.lse-performance.com/gallery/BOOM I would say its over.

It looks like the rod snapped off at the wrist pin after twisting (there appears to be other rods in various states of twist).

This of course came down like a battering ram onto the main girdle.

And ended up in many little pieces.

Atleast the rod bolts are still in tact, they are a little "worn" from impacting other shit while spinning around, but just a little rounded on the corner.

Oh and the block is fubar as well on the lower parts of the skirt it looks like. (Go to the link to see more damage, I"ll photograph it all when I get it more apart over the next week).
Woot!

So I am voting it was a straight up power issue. Weather or not it was a faulty rod is another story, but I did find the weakness in it :(.
More dissassebly and pictures to come in the following weeks.

All rod as far as I can tell, with a few pieces of main girdle.

I would love to, but funding was already low to begin with. It will be running when its running.

Eek, and it still ran? Seems like a lot of damage for the little symptoms it had. Like others have said, hope part of it is salvageable.
