Hello all!
Just found this Forum so let me intruduce myself: I'm Richard from The Netherlands (yea that's in Europe) Needless to say I like DSMs I've got a black 95 Talon Tsi Awd that i'm modifying and a 83 Starion that I restored and I recently got hold of a '90 Talon TSI with a spun pistonrod bearing that i'm repairing myself. Talons(or turbo eclipses) were never sold in Holland and are quite rare so getting parts requires alot of resourcefullness and making your own. But it adds to the fun when people in their expensive BMW's go WTF;-) Current mods 95 Talon: Evo3 16g turbo with Evo3 O2 housing poorted manifold to match the turbo 550 cc denso injectors 255lph Walbro Safc-2 Supra MK IV IC Home made IC pipes to match turbo & IC Greddy S-type Bov Home made 2,5"Downpipe with 2,5"catback exaust Running 20 PSI boost on 95 octane regular gas Still have to fine-tune some parts and have it dynoed. '83 Starion 2000ex 4G63T 8 Valve engine (stock) Intercooler from a Lancia Thema turbo custom Stainless IC piping full 3" custom Stainless exaust Don't have any pics of the actual cars but here's some pics of some of the mods:16g & IC install 90 Talon with spun bearing Messed up 14B |
A big welcome to DSMStyle!!!
Let's see some pictures!!! :bounce: |
Will put some pics of the cars up later.
Just realized I only took heaps of pics of all the technical stuff but hardly have any good ones of the cars thenselves. |
welcome.

Welcome.
Suprising to hear the Starion's come with SOHC 4G63's over there. As for parts, for the 90, you can get GVR4 parts, a lot of them are the same, but Im sure you knew that. |
Welcome!!! Very cool to have an overseas member.

Velkommen Til DSMStyle!!!!!!
I realize that's norwegian but I'm sure you understand it. I spent 2 years in Norway back in 93-95. I was even there for the Olympics. I was working though so I didn't get to go. Only lived an hour and a half away. Oh well. The only time I have been to the Netherlands was when I flew over to Norway. We switched planes there. Anyways, good to see some neighbours from across the pond joining us. |
Welcome to the site!

Wow, you're certainly from a ways away. How did you stumble upon the site?
Welcome! :toast: |
I was looking for some information related to MAF translaters and one of the searches ended up here by chance :bounce:
Looked like there was quite some technical knowledge and not to crowded here .. @mustgofaster Unfortunatly GVR4's were not sold here either. But plenty of other models based on the 4g63 (all non turbo) So unless I blow a piston or fry my ecu most parts can be borrowed from the non turbo engines. |
Welcome to the show my friend... You've come to the right place.

Well if there wern't turbo eclipse's either then you could just trying ordering parts from the states and having it shipped to you but that might be hard. I was also wondering if the talons wern't ever sold there then how did you get two?
also I keep telling them that country isn't spelled midwest but now I guess it should be world "serving the entire midwest" Just so you know I am from tennessee which is about ahh an 12 hour drive at least to the midwest. sorry for the long post guys -Stuart |

The '90 Tsi was imported from canada and i was able to pick it up cheap because the guy trashed the engine the '95 Tsi Awd. was imported from the U.S. and had been neglected by the previous owner and had been off the road for almost a year I was able to get that one relatively cheap mostly because there is no knowledge about these cars. But I have yet to see a 2nd 2G Talon here in the Netherlands. So it would not surprise me if i'm the only one to own one. Even the 2g n/a Eclipse (that has a 4g63 over here!) are quite rare. |
