NEED HELP ASAP!!!!! Crank Pin.

I bought a new crank and when I went to put on my flywheel I noticed that there was no pin in it to hold the flywheel in place. Can I run without the pin? Let me know.
Thanks,
Mike

pin...? Are you refering to the dowel? If you are, I'm pretty sure you need that to keep the flywheel perfectly centered. If you are talking about something else, I'm not sure what you are talking about!

Im sure the Mitsubishi engineers put it there for a reason... I can't see how you'd die, or the world would end, if you installed it without the pin. I swear there is a machined ring the fhywheel sits on, and the there isn't much clearance with the bolt holes. If you can get me the dimensions of the dowel pin, I can either make you one or take one from school.

yea there is a machined ring, i know more than a few cars that dont have one right now, it is mostly so idiots dont put the flywheel on wrong, but as far as i know dsm's can only go on one way anyways, i personally wouldnt worry about it.

So, I dont need it and its just for easy install of the flywheel. In that case Ill just throw the tranny on.

thatas what i would do, just make sure the dowel pin space is lined up, but i dont think it will bolt up if its wrong
