For the bowlers

Where are some local pro shops that have a good selection of balls and can drill on site.

eden prairie lanes has taken good care of me in the past. Every time I have been there they have had a good selection of balls, and obviously can order stuff as well.

Re: For the bowlers

I bowl in a few leagues. The guy who owns the eden Prarie Pro shop is pretty much a pro bowler. He is nice and knows about the equipment since he drillls new stuff for himself weekly. I have had good luck at the texa tonka ontrack also. They are a little more expensive for ball prices though. If you wanted to find the ball for cheaper, you might be able to buy the ball online and save money having it drilled by a pro shop.

As for the BV Rampage, John throws that ball and loves it. He had a 298 with it in league. It snaps pretty well on the backlend and he has bowled well with it. I didn't like it all that much, but it all depends on how you through. I didn't give the ball much time. Do you bowl much or plan on bowling a league? I am going to bowl a 2 ball challenge scratch league at EP this year again. It was fun last year and I did pretty well. My brother is bowling the brooklyn park 2 ball challenge instead. The 2 ball challenge means everyone uses the same 2 balls and they change the shot weekly do a differrent sport shot so it isn't just the regular house shot.

Re: For the bowlers

The ball I toss now is a very old 13lb Hammer. It's basic and pretty beat up. When I first got it I coudl through the standard hook and allow it to break at the end. But now it's so beat up that I drop it on the right side and it will only break about a foot in total when it does catch. It's not much better than trying to hook a plastic ball now.

I really want to get back into a league somwhere in the next year with people I know. I bowled in a league for very long time while in high school and then my last year was a league in while in my first year of college. So it's been about 9 years since I was on a regular schedule. But tossing a few decent games last weekend (much better than I have tossed in a 4 game set in a long time) I really want to get into it again. Jana does as well. We even got her a new pair of shoes. If we knew others withing decent driving distance we'd love to get into a mixed spring league yet this year.

Re: For the bowlers

the hammer is most likely too worn down. A newer ball will probably help you carry a lot and hook it much more.
