rear main seal wont stay put
It keeps coming out of place. I can't get it to stay. Yea that's a stupid problem but I figure I should adress this before finishing up the engine. The ARPs and this main seal are the only things stopping me from having a finished motor.

Re: rear main seal wont stay put
What do you mean it comes out of place? It just slides on and sits there as far as I remember?

Re: rear main seal wont stay put
Are you putting it in backwards? The open groove goes towards the inside. It isn't real easy to get in straight. I use a big socket and a rubber mallet.

Re: rear main seal wont stay put
You are talking about the seal where the flywheel attaches to right? As Cher mention what do you mean by backing out? If it is that seal by the flywheel did you make sure you put the meatal gasket thingy back after you put the seal on?

Re: rear main seal wont stay put
lol I know the metal cover is on. KC did this and told me to post up what I posted originally. I'll know more of what he means today or tomorrow. I think he meant it wont stay sealed on the grooves or whatever. Ill try what Jet said. Thanks.

When you put the metal trim ring behind it on the plate, make sure you put the oil drain hole pointing down.
