i have a choice to get either a super 16g with like 50 miles on it for 350, or a new 20g for 500. what should i get?

20G, Hahn's turbos suck and spool slow as hell.

Well, the 16g is going to make less power but spool faster. Your talking about 340-350whp max on a 16g. Yes people have done more, but it is rare to make over 350whp on a 16g.

With the 20g you are looking at around 400whp max, and slightly more lag.

It all comes down to what you want. Personally, if you are going to spend the money on a 20g, why not just get an internally gated SCM50trim from Precision Turbo? They are a more effiecent turbo and will do closer to 450whp and spool similar to a 20g.

BTW, where in Cottage Grove are you located? Cottage Grove has quite a few DSMer's rolling around. Whats done to your car?

Actually a 20G will spool quicker than a Super 16G.

A super 16g also wont just bolt up to your car. You will need a T3 manifold and a new o2 housing to make it work.

Since when can 20g's only support 400whp max?

The Super 16G kit came with an adapter to make it fit the stock manifold and a special o2 housing...don't even think about buying it unless it comes with the whole kit.

Jason R made 42x hp on his 20g with 550's so I think it can handle more than 400hp. For the hahn turbos spooling slow, I don't really agree about that. I haven't had the super 16g but I had the hahn super 20g with the bigger exhaust housing and spacer plate and it spooled faster than my brothers new pte 50 trim.

Great, then don't try arguing about it then.

I was just saying the super 20g isn't that laggy and seemed to spool quicker than a new PTE 50 trim.......

If you don't know what a super 16g is, then don't put in your $.02. He isn't talking about a regular 16g.

The 50 trim should be spooling a little quicker than a S20g. Different setups can spool the same turbo at different times, so it may just the difference in setups that is causing the extra lag on the 50 trim.

I have a Buschur 20g, it is not very laggy at all. I'd suggest the 20G over the Super 16G.

i live right by the high school on 80th street. as of now i only have 3" turbo back exhaust, greddy rs bov, external open dump (which im trying to get rid of), hks head gasket, apr head studs, and a couple gauges. im not looking to put the turbo in right now because i dont want anything to blow up. i want fuel stuff and a fmic before i put a new turbo in.

20G all the way.

Ditch both and get a .50 trim with the Mitsu housing. Much better option. The .50 trim has been proven time & time again to be one of the best pump gas turbos out there.
