Abs Removal
I just realized that my new dsm had ABS lol. Having ABS would be nice and all but I doubt it works and it sure does clutter up my engine bay.
What do I have to do to safely remove it and convert to regular braking system w/out ABS? Thanks! |

Re: Abs Removal
1G ABS is terrible and it gets in the way of clutch jobs.

Re: Abs Removal
Well since we are on the topic of this again. Since the non-ABS proportioning valve is discontinued has anyone tried to use an adjustable one from like Summit or Jegs? I realize you can get the OE one off a parts car but has anyone tried this?

Re: Abs Removal
I just did the abs delete on the galant. We used a non abs stealth proportioning valve. If you are planning on cutting and bending new lines to replace the abs front ones you have an obligation to everyone on the road to go the extra 10 miles and learn how to do it properly. I have everything needed to get it done right and wouldn't mind showing you how to do it.

Re: Abs Removal
If anyone is interested. I have a parts car that came without abs. Has all the brake lines/proportioning valve to do an abs delete. $45 since I will have to do some labor pulling them out carefully.

Re: Abs Removal
btw you need 4 brake lines, two front brake lines, two that goto the master cylinder, & the proportioning valve.

Re: Abs Removal
You shouldn't need to bend any lines, you can remove and install a set without hurting the bends.
