Dyno Fun!
 

So I decided to swing by DB this afternoon and visit Shane(ecoli). I checked out the shop and after watching some ricers run the wheels off of their turbo'd b16, we threw my 2G on the dyno. All I've got to say is that the stock ECU sucks ass. It insisted on running 28-29 degrees of timing at 20+ psi, I'm surprised it did as well as it did. I had half of a tank of bobby & steve's 111 in the car, so we cranked the boost up a bit to 25psi. There were a few runs that got closer to 340awhp, but torque earlier on was lower. Nice to meet Dan, we had good fun, and I like the shop!

So how far off was that hp number off from your expectations? What turbo???

Nice! It's especially cool coming out of a (almost) stock looking car. Sucks to hear about the timing though :(

What I thought you had a DSMLINK???

Looks like that "Bastard 20G" gonna work out real nice for you if you got those #'s on just a stock ECU!

I'm gonna have to start making unannouced stops at DB, since everyone seems to be going there. I drive right by it every day.

By the way, a black 97 GSX is the way to go. ;) hehehe.

Yea, right now I'm running the stock ecu & safc2 -- someone has my dsmlink ecu still. :(

The bastard 20g is a nice little turbo. 25psi by 3500 rpms. I think having the td06 turbine on it really makes it shine. We'll see if we can get a bit more out of it w/ some more boost and better tuning device in the near future!

Jet's silver 1G is pretty darn sweet indeed, but I'd have to go with M///'s <Chris's?> Blue 91 GSX as being the coolest DSM I ever saw, yet.

It won last years 1G catagory at the All Mitsu show!

Seriously though, I used to have a 1g too, they're sweet. JET & Peter's are probably some of the finest examples out there. Steve Hill's is pretty nice too, IMHO.

Nice Dyno run! You should be able to make alot more power once DSMlink is in there.

You guys are making me sad I sold it... actually I do miss the car alot, but the good times were too far apart from the bad times I had with that car haha. It was a constant project and thats why I got rid of it, I did have it for 5 years so I figured time to move on.

Yep, I still have the silver one. That is the car I ran an 11.5 with last year, the video should be in the archives somewhere. It will be going up on the dyno again today and hopefully won't have any issues this time. It will go under the knife sometime early this summer for some upgrades. I will post the dyno results tonight if anything good happens.
