Looking into a turbo, but whitch housing?
I have heard that the mitsu and the t3/4 turbo housings are both better and worse than eachother. Could anyone tell me from experience whitch one is more efficient than the other? I will probably be running a bb 50 trim.

Re: Looking into a turbo, but whitch housing?
The Garret is usually a tad more efficient, depending on the wheels used. What exactly are you asking? I would imagine you are trying to compare it to a 20g? Or are you talking about turbine wheels? The 50 trim is a bit larger than a 20g.

I'm talking about if you were to compare a 50-31 with a mitsu housing and a 50-31 with a garret turbine housing, whitch one would offer better performance with a manifold mounted wastegate.

Re: Looking into a turbo, but whitch housing?
Are you talking the PTE mitsu housing? Which garrett housing, .63?
Going full garrett will be a little better if that is the case, but the cost is higher. Performance won't be very different from the 2 (assuming this is what you are talking about). |
Re: Looking into a turbo, but whitch housing?
Also remember the huge difference in using the parts you have, like a downpipe, oil lines, exhaust manifold. Mitsu housings are nice since shit bolts right up. Unless you're going with something bigger than what's available with a Mitsu housing, or you're going all custom anyways, it's easier just to stick with Mitsu stuff.

You answered my question, I'll end up going the garret way when I do anything. Paul Thompson Out. |
