I ran the car
Like the title says.. Went to the track Saturday.. it was the first day of the track.. Didn't even think I was going to run it on the way down there but when i got there i couldn't resist to see what my DSM could do.
Get registered in- 1 hour Wait to pull up to line- 45 minutes time to get down the track- 14.012 Yeah its horrible but the clutch was slipping terribly for some odd reason.. Like i said its been leaking oil so maybe it was the rear main seal leaking oil and getting the clutch a little wet. I had a horrible launch.. 2.119 60 foot. I'm sure it coulda ran better but i was letting off trying to get that clutch to catch. I dunno it sucks but there are lots of problems with it right now.. Once we get it fixed and tuned i'm sure it will hit a 12 sooner or l8tr. This is the only forum i'm actually going to post my time on since my brother told me not to run it down the track because it would dissapoint me.. I'll post up my timeslip once i get a scanner or find someone who has one. Discuss.... |

A 14.01 down to a possible 12? Yeah you must of had some slippage or something :D

true.. it sounds stupid.. but with the setup i have it should hit 12's easily.. I know i'm a bad driver but i'm sure i could improve that also
Plus either the turbo is bad or the valve guides are bad.. because its leaking oil bad and shooting blue smoke. ^^ we are checking that out today after i get outta school.. |

Where you from that the tracks are open? Leaking oil is not something track officials would like to hear. Time to get the jackstands out.

what are your mods? something must have been really off if you got 14s instead of the 12 mark.

well, he said he cut a 2.1 60' time. 1.6's are do-able with practice, right??
That would bring him down to a 13.5 with a slipping clutch and blue smoke. I could see 12's coming out of that with some work. |

Takes a hell of launch to get 1.6's. That's not to say it can't be done though.

I have a 20g, 660's, afc, Eprom. Frontmount, HKS cams 264/272, full 3-inch exhaust, and Feramic Clutch.
The setup that was put on my car was off of a different car that ran a 12.1.. So obviously something is wrong |

You need some tuning. I went 14.1@94 2 times with an airfilter and mbc at 14psi and no cat. OEM everything, 1993 tsi awd. I've seen 20g powered cars go 11's. Get that 60' down. 2.1' is a decent 60'. For a fwd on street tires. |

i'll go to the light for 100 bucks since thats how much it is for some tuning. Nobody around here knows how to do a small street tune.
Again either the turbo or the cylinder head is bad.. Since it goes through about 1 quart every 50 miles. and shoots blue smoke.. and leaves tons of black soot |

What psi where you running?
I had simular mods on my FWD and went 13.1@115mph (24psi@c16 though) - Nash went 11.22@122mph with his 20G@c16 94mph is the killer though that right there shows you're in need of alot of tuning. Bad launch aside you can typically get a close idea of power based on MPH. Repeat Close idea. NOT exact. |

Wow... Sounds to me like you need more mods and to tune your car. Without knowing about anything your engine is doing... Its like working on your car with a blind fold on and not knowing whats wrong with it.
Get a logger... Get a boost gauge... Before you do any dyno tuning. |

i used my bro's logger no knock deffinatly need to get a logger... but thats all i really was paying attention to..
Deffinatly need to get a boost gauge also though. |
