Anyone know of..
Some cheap apartments around the twin city area that aren't some place I would be worried about getting raped in and aren't to shitty? I'm pretty much being forced to move out and I can't seem to find anything worth it. I don't make much either, which is a problem.
Also, does anyone know of places hiring that make pretty good money? |
Re: Anyone know of..
aren't we all? I too am looking to move out, cause if it's not soon, i might be moving away to CA or AZ with the family (father got laid off). As for the job..not too many would have an idea on that.
why are you getting kicked out? -A. Swift |
Re: Anyone know of..
Actually I am kicked out. My step mom and I got into a huge fight and, to make a long story short, she said some shit she shouldn't have, including "I don't ever want you in my house again" and so I've been living with a friend at her mom's. Not a good time at all. Then she proceeded to tell my dad he needed to get out to [who pays her bills, btw. ALL of them, right down to the two packs of cigs a day she smokes] But he won't get off his as and find us a place to live, so I'm doing it myself. Sometimes you gotta take care of yourself, which sucks.

Re: Anyone know of..
For sure, man. Unfortunately it may involve me taking a break from school, as well, to get a second job. I'm not that bothered by it though, because where I am at, school wise, is not where I want to be at all.

Re: Anyone know of..
That sucks to hear, hopefully I can offer some advice... The only place you'll find a cheap roof to live under is in the ghetto areas or the fringes of the burbs. The best you'll be able to do anywhere is $400-600 a month for a 1 bedroom or studio apartment. If you get lucky you'll be able to find something near the colleges such as around Dinkytown, up and down Marshall in St. Paul renting someone's basement, or something of that sort. Check out apartments.com if you want an apartment, or browse the newspaper for renting out of someone's house.

Don't you have to have a Co-Signer if you have poor/no credit? I don't have credit yet. I suppose another question is what are good ways to build credit? |

Re: Anyone know of..
Chris is right about the credit card... Pay for all of your normal everyday stuff with it, but pay it off IMMEDIATELY and in full. Don't even let balances go longer than a week and you'll build credit in no time.

Re: Anyone know of..

Re: Anyone know of..
The best way to build credit is to have two major cards and use them but keep them paid off. And of course have a checking account and even a savings account. Most of all keep all your bills paid on time. Cell phone ect if they are late will fuck your score over. Its takes a long time to build good credit but only one bad thing to bring it down.

Re: Anyone know of..
Tauni...
Do you have any experience in Customer Service?? |
Re: Anyone know of..
You don't want to just pay off a credit card in full to build credit. It doesn't generate the results you'd think compared to carrying a balance on the card not more than 35-40% of your credit line. That tells the credit agaencies you can manage credit, use credit, and not abuse credit. The biggest key is your debt to income ratio and keeping it low low low.
As for an apt, just step up and tell your dad to get off his ass and be a father. Aren't you in high school yet? |
