Phones and companies?
who does everyone go through, and what does everyone have? pros and cons? I have had att, sprint, and now verizon. I like verizon a lot..i have yet to have any service problems. I currently have the "red bull" phone you get at best buy..I call it that, as it looks like the can. Anyway, I want the slvr that motorola has out now..it includes itunes, which i regrettably sold my ipod a while ago, but with the phone, that might tide me over..anyone else have it, or the razr? I like the phone, but it seems that it's just too fat, or something. it's super thin, but i dunno. What does everyone else have?

I like Sprint. Roaming included with all of thier new plans, nice phones, competitive rates.

Re: Phones and companies?
I have a Motorola Razr V3 with Cingular. I love the phone, Love my service, you cant beat Rollover minutes especially when you get a new number because that first month when no one knows your number you just accumulate tons of minutes.

I had Verizon before and for some reason my phone would never recieve phone calls. So my dad switched us to Sprint and I've never missed a call. I like Sprint!

Re: Phones and companies?
Cingular is by far the best service right now and will only get better. They just recently bought out Bell South as well. They have the most coverage and towers by far. I had a Verizon phone and my Cingular phone at the same time for about 6 months because I couldn't terminate the Verizon contract until December. Anyway my Cingular V3 Razr would have service everywhere where the Verizon phone was decent but no where near Cingular. I would compare them in obscure places, in Valleys and shit and the Cingular phone would have three bars where the Verizon phone wouldn't have shit.

T-Mobile. I love it. been with them for 5 years. Never had any problems. But I'm thinking abomut switching.

I've had old school AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and now Cingular. I have a Motorola V551 and the reception sucks ass. I've swapped it out more than once and had Cingular update the programming. I'm actually kinda sick of never having reception and dropping calls like nobody's business. I think I need a Razr but I'm just not ready to shell out $200+ to buy a new phone.

Re: Phones and companies?
I have never had a dropped call with my Razr.

Re: Phones and companies?
I've been with Verizon for 8 years and just signed a new 2 year deal for 2 new phones. They are one of the few that get service in my actual area for some reason. Jana and I picked up 2 new Samsung SCH-A950's full with V-Cast, still and video camera and mp3 player. Plus I now get 15% off though work. I've worked for Verizon and know the in and outs for the most part and know enough to know who's better in the twin cities, and I feel it's Verizon in terms of overall cell service and plans. Their customer service is pretty much shit though.

I just scanned Ebay for a Razr and I see the V3 and the V3i. Anyone have the V3i yet? It looks like I can get the V3 for ~$200 and the V3i for ~$300. On second thought, I don't even use my cell phone very often. I have a few thousand rollover anytime minutes. It must be this weather that makes me feel like spending money. |
Re: Phones and companies?
Verizon price guages so bad I won't use them on principal alone. They now want $5/month so you can record shows on your tivo from your phone. Something I've been doing with my normal T-mobile data plan and hacked Tivo for years.
The Verizon data plan is also ridiculously priced. Too bad because they have some great technology. |
Re: Phones and companies?
I had Verizon back when they were Airtouch cellular, then I switched to T-mobile, and hated it. I switched back to Verizon and have been pretty happy with it. My contract is up in December, and I'm definitely going to shop around for a better deal though. Right now, I'm thinking Cingular looks like the best deal with the rollover minutes. I still have 9 months left though, so I'm not going to worry about it right now.

Re: Phones and companies?
I been doing cell phone sales for over a year. I worked a few months for a cingular, t-mobile agent, and a year at alltel. If I lived in the cities, I would personally go with verizon, or cingular. Everyone has there own great plans, and phones. Some things to ask though, that you may not have thought of are:
Do I have to sign another year on the contract if I change plans? When am I able to sign up again, so I can get the phones at the cheap price? If I move to an area that you do not own, can I get out of my contract without a penalty, or do (some companies do these) a market transfer? |
Re: Phones and companies?
I've had T-mobile (back in the day) and Sprint PCS currently. T-Mobile sucked, Sprint is okay. Sprint for business sucks.

Re: Phones and companies?
I live off of text messages though, so I need unlimited texting. Since Verizon doesn't offer that, I'm screwed...However, I do like some of the phone's Verizon has. I worked for Cingular for a while in their Corporate office, and got a free phone with unlimited EVERYTHING, paid by the company..that was nice....why did i leave... :( lol
