no mods yet, The first thing i'm gonna do is fix the transmission, it grinds. I'm gonna send it to TRE for a Performance Rebuild after that i'm buying a evo3 16g and a dsm link, i havent decided on cams yet, i hear the 262/272 combo works pretty good but i'm still learning.

Shane, dont't waste your time with a 16G

16G is a great choice for a street turbo setup. Easy to tune, can make pretty decent power, and spools quickly; makes for a very fun daily-driver that will not be broken 90% of the time.

Whats wrong with the 16g? i really dont need anything bigger for my plans, i just want to get into evo killin territory. When i do my trans i was thinking of doing a bottom end rebuild. The top end was done last sept from the previous owner. Eveything is going to stay stock except i'd get the 2g pistons.

Nothing at all, its a good and proven turbo.

The 16G is a great turbo. If you want to kill Evos though, you might need something bigger, since the Evos already have better 16Gs than the ones we put on DSMs.

get a 50 trim. PTE makes a great one, and I see them for sale all the time on dsmtuners.com. They spool pretty quick, give good power, and don't cost that much. Perfect for street.

Have fun with TRE. I have not read a single positive comment about their customer service in quite sometime. I'd be sending that tranny to Shep if I were you.

Kracka 03-12-2006 10:03 PM

Re: New minnesotan

4 months, 37 calls, and 18 emails later you'll have a great tranny.

really, is ther turn around really that bad? can some one link to the comment site?

Kracka 03-13-2006 10:47 PM

Re: New minnesotan

What comment site? You are getting first-hand info here, I don't know a single person on this site who has dealt with them and actually been pleased with the customer service. I did business with him once and that was more than enough for me (see above).

TRE builds nice stuff, but how long did he have to wait for it?
