I used to get email spam like that. Go out and earn it like everybody else. That's about one step above holding a sign up on Washington and West Broadway.

Re: we should all help this guy

Holding a sign is a lot more work than putting up a website. Usually on Friday afternoons, there will cleaner cut looking guys out there with signs that say "Why lie. Need beer money".

He's not lying, I have seen it!

Reminds me of the guy that put up a website saying that he would eat this cute little bunny on xx date if he didnt raise something like $18,000. I simply refuse to support people like that, it only ecourages them.

Did he really raise $13k already??

Re: we should all help this guy

I think so. Like I said, I wish I would've thought of it. The guy at savetoby.com has made *way* more than $18k, he made like $50k, and got a book deal out of it. He's currently re-threatening Toby's life against the number of sales of his book.

Ahhh, the wonderful world we live in.

Why anyone would give him money is beyond me, but to each his own I guess.

Re: we should all help this guy

and here's what you get folks!

". you get to see how quickly one can accumulate enough money to purchase a 911 turbo from simply getting a few dollars here and there."

give me a break. he must have a really crappy job if he can't buy a porsche 911 turbo. and here's something - he's got a picture of a 996, but the specs of a 997 twin turbo. I didn't see a model year specified, but this guy is retarded, just buy an 02 for 50-60 grand with an oil leak. fix it up, add some mods and be done. you don't need a brand new car.

I wish him bad luck.

I second that notion! I need a DSM too!

But to be honest, I grew up with the fact that you had to work hard and save your money to get the things you wanted. So that's how I do things. I work hard and save. People taking shortcuts and stuff is kind of lame IMO. But to each his own. I'll be checking the site periodicaly to see how much he has.

At least the savetoby website was somewhat novel, this guy has nothing, just begging for money. I highly doubt he has $13k already either.

Re: we should all help this guy

I don't doubt that he has the money by any means. This is 2006 and weirder shit is going on on the net. Like the 29 year old guy who picked up a 15 year old girl off Myspace, banged her like 15 times, and had her thinking they should get hitched. If you can be a convicted sex offender, get a 15 year old to give it up after just talking on the net, and then get busted cause her mom found a V-Day card from her to him and get sent directly to jail, then yeah.... some guy could somehow get free money. And my guess is in a year the government will start taxing this shit as well. lol

I think there was something similar done where someone created a website to help pay off their debt. I can't remember how much she actually got, but it was quite a bit (for some reason, I think like $40K). People are lazy this day in age.

Re: we should all help this guy

the save tobie thing was shut down and the guy was being punished by the spca or something. they were trying to send him to jail.
also a pretty crappy job not to be able to afford a 130K car? Common 130K a year is a damn good job down here and I don't know anyone that would spend that much on a car if it was your entire years pay.

Well according to his site he has 11% of the total price which would equal to about $14,300
