aem ems anyone, help!
 

still tryin to learn the ems any assit would be great. I downloaded the soft but not sure if I should hook it up just yet. I dont have any ext gauges except boost. and I dont quite understand the auto map feature. do I need a uego seperate or not?

yea, you're gonna need a few things. Wideband would be key, possibly an EGT gauge, and probably some help, or some more research on your part. Better yet, call up Elite or LSE and get them to do the tuning for you. An EMS is nothing to just start playing with w/o the proper equipment, and many many people have learned the hard way that they should have had more help when they went to start tuning.

You should also look into eliminating the stock airflow sensor and installed an IAT (intake air temp) sensor and MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor.

How about a mods list?
Vehicle type?
Our dyno will not be landing for about a month, but we are more than capible of setting up your complete map.
In order for the "automap" to work, you need a seperate wideband input, it works great, but isn't nearly as good as tuning the cells individually. I would recommend at a minimum: 3.5 or 5 bar map sensor, IAT sensor (aem or GM), wideband 02.
The EMS is a great standalone system, but is nothing to be "Just playing with".

It sounds like you might be in over your head. The AEM EMS is a complicated and potentially dangerous tool. You will need a wideband o2 setup, if you plan on doing any tuning yourself. I wouldn't recommend the autotune feature, because an inexperienced tuner should learn how to actually use the system and fuel tuning is one of the easiest things to do on the AEM. And for an experieced tuner, the autotune is just a somewhat slow tool. You can usually do a better an quicker job by manually tuning it and using your best judgement.

well after i finally admitted to myself that i have no idea and should wait till i am back in mn i decided to sell the damn thing! i think i am just to "stock" to really be using it right now anyway. i only got it for the pte and that got stolen so back to the begining.....damn 14b! thanks all
