LOL, nice Mark! It has been a while since I have seen or talked to you.

I thought the MR wasn't going to ever see big power? ;)

Now that you have this, another daily Evo, and the blue beast (your DSM), I'm assuming you got rid of my old Red Talon?

Pretty sure the Chang's bought that and parted it.

That would be correct. :)

Damn you! My baby! :)

What became of the shell?

Edit - Also, what did you end up purchasing it for?

~$1500. We ended up scrapping it.

Last post, I don't want to clog up his project thread, but was it in bad shape when you got your hands on it?

When I sold him the car, it was pretty damn clean (garage stored during the winters), and he bought it for 5k...

My heart is a little bit shattered right now, but, it is what it is. :)

Edit - I found his for sale thread for the car, the tranny went boom! No need to respond to me anymore on this thread... I've already clogged it up enough!

How do you intend to utilize the ethanol content sensor with the vs 1 AEM?

The AEM will not be hooked in to the content gauge, it is connected to a visual display showing the percentage of ethanol in the fuel. The main purpose it to be sure the content is high enough for high boost!

It was a great car I think the body almost had 250K miles!

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects

So in doing the 5 speed swap the 6 speed center console needs to be modified to fit the shifter base. Also the boot doesn’t fit properly around the shifter post, so I machined a spacer so that I could use my original shifter and make it look like it came that way from the factory.

It's awesome having my own personal machine shop in my garage. I started acquiring equipment about 5 years ago and now I just want more machines to expand my capability! I picked most of the stuff up on craigslist for extremely reasonable prices!

That's cool, but didn't you know how to use all that stuff already?

What kind of things can you make? I'm good with creating new products.

I have learned how to use everything on my own. Kind of funny mainly watching Youtube vids! I bought my lathe without ever operating one! I can make lots of stuff between my lathe and Bridgeport.

That's mega pimp.

How much longer you think you have left till you are driving this thing around?

Nice work! You planning on having this and the 1G at proving grounds this year?

It’s a possibility, for sure the 1G for drag strip. Maybe the evo for track, since it doesn’t have a cage? I also saw the turbo rules changed from 62mm to 58mm max size for true street.

Chris, why did this change happen?

The evo would be in the same class as the 1G.

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects

I think the "honda guys" wanted the change. Who knows, but if you read the MAP rules thread it says there is NO quick 16 class anymore. Maybe Ill take the auto out on the road course. But if you want a passenger out there I'd ride with.:woohoo1:

EDIT-MAP said this in their input thread "Yep I see this as putting FWD cars at a bigger disadvantage, but its what they want. Also, what I have posted is almost identical to last years classes, worked pretty well from what I recall. I was just hoping to have a bigger Quick class this year, but it might not be in the cards. Plus I'm sure John and Mark don't want to run that Corolla either lol"

Clearly I'm going to need to review the event classes!

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects

I don't think they updated it here, but true street is back up to 62mm.

Basically the honda guys with 5857 wanted to run the 6262 guys. bump that thread and maybe we can see what they are now.
