Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
I might be able to find a few driver numbers assoc with their names and see if they ran in a bracket champ/KOH in their region.
the sonoma has to be in the mid 7s, even 500whp with those usually gets around 10s |

Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
150+ in the 1/8th is nuts.
The 6266 can make 800whp |
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
I would guess the top 5 are easily in the 7's, the farm truck in the high 9's, and the Beetle in the low 10's, maybe high 9's. 6266 on that thing with great traction and low weight should be pretty quick.

Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
I don't think even the best DSM would have anything for the top 5, those guys are pulling 1.1's on the street.
|
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
I wonder if NHRA would try to enforce this to anyone that has or does street race.
That would have to be quite a large pool of people. |
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
That beetle runs 10s at its best. I have watched alot of videos of those beetles on the track. You need some time to get them to make it down the track. Farm truck should run some mid runs if its set up right. The truck makes big power just on motor. Plus hes hitting it with a 500 shot if I remember right. But its heavy and it wheelies to much.
It takes alot to get those cars to hook on the street. Plus I bet they prep the shit out of the roads they race on. The top 5 on the show should run 8.00s or better. But I think most of those guys run 1/8 mile on the track. On another note its a fun show to watch you just cant believe its real illegal racing like they want you to believe. Next weeks episode should be a good one |

^ that last one is hilarious

Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
The top five cars are easly in the 7s. I've heard some locals have been invited down to be in the show. So we might get a better idea of how fast they really are.

Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
Well I know boostedgt - makes around 1400.
But if you watched the episode with the 57 chev or what ever That didnt even make the list. That car for I think it was 3yrs in a row won the - street car challenge or what not where they had to drive there car to 5 different tracks and then which ever person had the best 1/4 average won. And his best time was 6...@216mph in the quarter if im not mistake. Id look up the stats and post all the actual info but im at work. I just know that a was the first one to ever hit 6 sec 1/4 at the event. And it didnt even make the list. (But to be fair he was racing dominator who is a top 5 car all day long) had he races any of the small tire guys he would have been on it for sure |
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
Also "chucks" tt mustang at least last episode dynod at just over 1000whp
Farmtruck - makes 1500hp on spray. But in one episode he said the truck weighs 5,000lbs. but said he uses that as an advantage to help him hook on the street. I personally would love to see the red demon race. I think he'd have np with the bottom of the list. and would just be curious to see just how far up he could go. |
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
I saw farmtruck race once at a grudge night when I lived in the south.
Lutz won Hotrod's Dragweek a couple of times. It's pretty much a fiberglass body promod. It runs 6.70's@200+ It's the reason Larry Larson built that truck, instead of racing the steel body car he won with 3-4 years ago. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWmexP7Q5xY&hd=1 1320 just put out this video where it has a little more info about the car. I'd really like to go watch the KOTS this year if money allows |
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
same weekend as proving grounds
|
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
Weird, their fb page says June 13 for the first one. Depending on weather I think i'd rather go to proving grounds. If their fb is right they have another one in sept that is the same weekend as proving grounds as well
|
Re: NHRA goes after Street Outlaws
My understanding is that Lutz has two '57s, there's the Drag Week car and then the one he had a go at the list with... The Drag Week car makes like 3k, and he didn't want to change the entire setup around for the street, hence his running the other car.
