It's the new OnStar app which is free for 5 years w/new car purchase, but I'm not sure which vehicles it's compatible with.

Gotcha, cool, very cool! Lame they make you pay later though haha.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

I'll worry about that come 2019 ;)

Regular OnStar is only free for 6 months, but I have no plans on renewing that unless a subscription is required for the over-the-air updates I mentioned earlier.

I'd give you guys my car's phone #, but minutes for it are expensive as hell and I don't trust any of you not to drunk dial it! This is a rather pointless feature unless you have a non-Bluetooth phone (or don't have a cell phone).

bringing back the car phone! Yes!

It doesn't have integrated Bluetooth that just plays your phone over the speakers and mic in there somewhere? That app is nice! Never tried the BMW one, but their system is a lot like onstar.

Just in time to have it paid off and move onto the next model year.

It does have Bluetooth as well for phone calls, contact lists, audio streaming, and Pandora. The OnStar phone # is in addition to it for the people w/o cell phones, no cell coverage, dead phone battery, etc. Not useful for most I would suspect.

I can't believe you have your car named GheyRay in your phone.

That is some insane shit with all those features.

Murlo, I'd like to learn some more about your dad's C6.

LOL yeah, I've nicknamed it that in both Chevy's and OnStar's systems which the dealership will see when I bring it in for service and OnStar if I ever make a call to them

Hmm, I'll have to see if that app is available for the hoe-hoe, I've never used any onstar features with it yet. Being able to start it from my desk next winter would be nice, I have to get near a window now to use the fob.

LOL, no worries.

I honestly have zero idea of how serious he is about selling it, he hates selling stuff.

If the car was a hardtop or whatever the top you have is called, I would've bought it already and sold my evo. It's beautiful and very fun. Every time I drive it I want to sell the evo more.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

As you know my dad is on the hunt pretty hardcore for a C6 drop-top, but said he isn't willing to consider a manual tranny regardless of price. He's been looking at a few every week up there, and I plan to check out two 2008's for him down here this weekend.

Targa top.

Oh, no manual tranny, well guess that rules my dads out. Good luck with the search! They are fun cars as you well know.
