issues - stumped and need options

So I cant go wot on my car. And if i do it sputters real bad. And then typicallyfrom there after it sputters anytime I hit the gas.

For those on ecmlink I've posted logs in my "stuck at work" thread.

What I've changed.
-tps/isc (junkyard)
-spark plugs (4sets) variety gaps alot in testing
-new coils for cop
-new arc2 (same harness though)
-cleaned connectors
-new aem wideband gauge
-all new intake and exhaust gaskets
-new turbo
-intank fuel sock
-cleaned inline fuel filter

I dont know what else to check.
-i was planning on sending out my injectors for cleaning and check functionality hopefully next week. Amd may even send the ecu to ecmlink to have them check it over as well.

Other then that maybe bad harness? Ecu?

Anyone have any idea what else I should be checking? I will be doing another boost leak test this weekend weather permitting and time (birthday is saturday and I know my wife has plans just dont know what and for how long)

Any help would be appreciated. I would really love to start enjoying this car more.

Did the problem appear after anything in particular or just out of the blue?

Can u get your hands on a stock ignition setup and throw it on there and see if it goes away?

I think I've had this issue since I bought the car , only ots gradually got worste till the other day I went oit from work to head home and car wouldn't start at all.

I went ahead and just ordered a new pnp harness for the arc2 tonight. So ill try that.

The original box was an original design arc2 and from reading several threads its possible the harness went bad based on peoples issues turning out to be older harnesses.

jeez, did you have like a million problems with that car since you bought it?

Not really, just this one that's gradually gotten worse. The biggest issue is the car being a talon and not an eclipse. (But I always liked talons with eclipse front and rear) it very well could have been as he advertised (eclipse converted to talon then backnto eclipse. But i couldn't find the side skirt holes and the driverside ones didnt line up 100% so i had to redo one. And i still havent done the doors yet and i dont see holes for the eclipse plastic either. so far i havent found it hard to drill the holes correctly, so hopefully thay trend will continue if i decide to put them on. But this is all off topic.

The stuff I've switched is mostly trying to fix this issue , rest is stuff I wanted to do, rutine maintemance or was a deal I didnt want to pass up.

Like today I also order new oem floor mats. Car didnt come with them and I've swapped my interior to black minus dash (thay will eventually get done) so since they sell oem floor mats in black why not. To be honest id probably buy an oem hatch cover too if i found one cheap enough.

I say if you can, try a stock ignition, and go from there. coil on plug and ignition boxes seam to cause nothing but problems. I hear stories of the high power guys that need ignition boxes. driveing around with a bypass plug so when there boxes fail they can still get home.

I plan to start collecting the parts over time.

This actually happened to me at BIR. My Arc-2 decided to take a nap, so I had to just bypass it. Couple hours later and the Arc-2 worked again. Wasn't too satisfied with that device personally.

Re: issues - stumped and need options

Well worked on the car yesterday. And finally did a boost leak test as the was gone and none was home for me to wake up running the compressor.

For starters dmertz - of ecmlink - told me to check the box marked "non 95 cas" so I tried that. Amd well the car idled like shit which normally was the only part I never had issues with.

So I did what he asked and then drove the car around town and for a while I thought it might be slighlty better. But same stuff kept happening only now I have an idle issue. So I tried to put it back to where it was and still have an idle issue.

Broke out the compressor for a leak test and wtf.... fastest test I've done.... so when I add air it just shoots straight out the back of the compressor cover of my hx40.

So you can get an o ring or justin from tuners who does all the rebuilds says you can rtv it also.

And I would have just jumped in and got started only I took the compressor cover off my hx35 to check it and to clean it (which its looks great on the inside, I took picts) however non of the plyers in own will stay gripped to the damn c-clip. and wasnt about to take the hx40 apart until I figured out how to reinstall the housing on my 35. Anyrate I brought it to work today so hopefully one the maintenance guys will have a tool that will work.

Other then that the new arc2 pnp harness will be in tomorrow along with brand new oem floor mats, and acouple gaskets

I vacuumed out the car for the first time in ages as well as glued down the passenger airbag that the cover was coming up on (better but not perfect so eventually ill replace it I think)

I also finally got my "new" hx40 bep housing return shipping label from extremepsi today so got that shipped out as well.

You have replaced your transistor, as well? Can you post logs on here?

Not sure how to post logs here. But I was thinking power transistor last night also. I will hopefully install the new harness tonight. And have another update tomorrow

I was going to say boost leak too. That and ignition like the others said. Fix the boost leak, then see what happens. If it still acts up then dump the stupid COP. The majority of them don't work well.

Wife's already getting tired of boxes showing up every other week lol.

Blt is on the to do list - sorry if im not spelling out everything will be doing, I basically just mention the stuff thats being added to the standard list of to do's.

I still have to take the hx40 off and bring it to work. (I was able to fix the hx35 the other day took the largest pair of snap ring plyers i had ever seen to do it....they were a locking type. I looked them up they are $56 but bad ass plyers)

2 Attachment(s)
Well fuck, why cant anything just be simple.

Got the harness and the one on the car isn't even close to the one I just got.

Only 1 of the plugs match to what's on the engine harness now.

And they are no where near the same lengths. And I really dont want to destroy either harness to piece it together. The long harness isn what was on the car, small one is the pnp.

At least I brought the snap ring plyers home from work so im praying at least that part of my night goes better

Well i give up trying to work on a car with a new born is impossible. Every time I get under the car and just get my hands dirty. Hes up again.

Tomorrow im going to bring my old harness to work and see if I can get an electrician to verify it either works or does.

Update.

So finally got a few hours to work on the car.

I had one oil leak left from my off road excursion thanks to bitch who was texting and driving that put me into the ditch. Ordered up a fellow oil pan gasket. And got that installed. (Did not fix the leak, it has to be coming from oil filter housing (not happy about that)

Also got the hx40 compressor cover sealed finally, however have to clock it again as my fan hits the elbow.

Went to take the car to get groceries. (Wife left the door open for a week so battery was dead) anyrate two things. 1) now my tps sensor is reading .75, normally sits at .63 via link

2) my isc is reading 81 normally sat at 30.

Even when the biss is fully closed lowest I could get was 70

Even with issues went to get groceries. Car ran flawlessly, other then when I came oit of gear rpms would drop to like 530rpms then go back to 1000 right away. (Biss my guess)

Even got on boost a little and the hx40 hits like my old 35r. So far thinking the hx35 was a much smoother turbo and better suited for the road racing. So that'll probably go back on.

Finally after unloading groceries I went to put the car back in the garage and wouldn't start unless kept my.foot off the gas. If I pushed the pedal it would try to stall and die every time.

I finally got the car to go into the garage buy just putting it into gear and letting the clutch out.

What's weird about that is. Last time the car wouldn't start, it would only start when the gas pedal was fully to the floor.

Re: issues - stumped and need options

Well saturday I worked on the car.

Although link shows fuel flow during cranking the gauge on the fpr reads zero.

I traced the power all the way to the pump and the relay is good and the power gets to the plug to the pump.

I havent taken the pump out yet. But that's my next step. Was happy to see that I do have braided line/ an fittings from the pump. And there is zero rust anywhere that I could see in the pump area

If extremepsi will ever refund me my damn money for that pos. Bep housing they sold me (back on april 4th, they've had it back now for 2 weeks and wont respond to any of my messages) would be great

Check grounds for engine, sporadic tps signal and idle control motor tells me there could be a bad ground. Maybe just unbolt, scrub clean, and re-bolt to start?
