Re: Synthetic Oil Study
You are a dumby, please read over what S2Kracka had already posted two years back about RP. Their products don't seem to be made for street driven cars.

Re: Synthetic Oil Study
wow 2 years ago huh i have an outside study for amsoil royal purple and mobile 1 from less than 6 months ago seeming i work w/ car parts and oil everyday. you do know that formulas change and dont stay constant w/ oil right. but hey again what do i know i just work w/ oil distributors all the time.
i am done w/ this now and if you have any future opinions good for you what you think is what you think. i just go from good old fashion facts that i come across. |
Re: Synthetic Oil Study
Virgin oil analysis is great and all, but the real tests to be concerned with are the ones performed with used oil.

Interesting Oil Info
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=367300
http://ultimategto.blogspot.com/2007...yler-jark.html Apparently some of the newer oil being sold in the last couple years has drastically reduced the amounts of certain additives due to stricter EPA requirements (Zinc, Sulfur, Phosphorus). Sounds like these additives alone are actually quite valuable, especially when it comes to people pushing their motors. Also I read the lack of these additives could be a partial cause of why we see so many turbo center section's needing rebuilds now a days while in the older days, vehicles that didn't even use BOV's had their turbos last quite a bit longer. Anyhow just thought I'd share this so others can form their own opinions from it. I'm going to change my oil tomorrow before I hit the track Sunday, and may go check out all the oils they have at Napa and see if I can find some pre-SM rating stuff. |
Re: Interesting Oil Info
lucas oil makes a zinc additive that you can run in there. We sell it at advance auto parts. Very good stuff and puts all the zinc and everything back into the oil.
