Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
I was busy this morning and knocked out the upper intercooler pipe and modified the ETS intercooler outlet to increase the size to 3".

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Looking good brotato, keep up the good work!
I'm going to need a ride in this this summer. Are you going to drive this on the roads? Or strip only like the DSM? |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
It’s the summer car! It’s going to see the street, maybe the track once since I would prefer to rage the DSM at the strip. It’s the summer car! The DSM sees the street too, I drove it almost 1500 miles last year & burnt through 55 gallons of E98!

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Only 55 gallons on e98? I put 75 threw my car, I guess I drove a lot more then I thought, or my MPG was not that good.
Anyways looks good man, someday I want a fun summercar like this. And I would have no issues running that white corolla this year. ~John |

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Picked up my FIC 2150 injectors from MAP yesterday, Thanks Chris! I'm going to start my exhaust project this weekend. Its all coming together so fast!

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Keep it up, excited for ya man!
High teens isn't bad either for E98 and that power level. |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Its that white one that ran that really low 9/ high 8 at proving grounds.

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
I finished up the electrical work for the new small battery integration, new Injector connectors, MAP sensor, AIT sensor, connecting the wideband to the AEM EMS, and to finish it off the way the second 255 is staged in. I made my own radius cut weld in bung for the AIT sensor, it cost all of about 20 cents in material! I extended the battery connections and matched the entire factory AWG wiring. Soldered all of the joints and used adhesive lined shrink wrap to cover the solder joints. I finished the job up with split loom that was the factory size. I also machined a little bracket for the MAP sensor mounting, of course overly complicated. This took all Saturday to accomplish and the result turned out great. You cannot tell the any modifications have been performed! I ordered a new T-bolt clamp for the Boomba TB, since all of my 3” style clamps will not fit since they are too small. I turned the motor over with no ecu connected to make sure everything was sound. All is good!
Next steps: ·Fabricate exhaust & oil catch can ·Make a start up calibration for the AEM. ·Bleed the ACD ·Fill the cooling system with antifreeze ·Start the car! http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/p...206_183501.jpg |
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
Looking good! Do you plan on coating or wrapping the exhaust manifold / exhaust housing on the turbo, since they are so close to your radiator?
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
What ignition box are you going to run??
|
Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects
You should thermal disperse coat the radiator, intake manifold, and FMIC like a boss.
And ceramic coat (like I already mentioned) the header, exhaust housing on the turbo, and downpipe... squeeze every damn HP out of it! :D |
