FS (Duluth): 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder (55k miles)
Year, Make and Model: 1997 Mitubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder
Color: Metallic Grey Pearl Miles: 55,000 Transmission: 5 Speed Manual Engine: 2.0L DOHC Turbo Number of owners: 1 Modifications: None (and always has been) Title: Clean Location: Duluth, Minnesota VIN: Available upon request Seller's name: David Humes Seller's phone number: 218-343-5008 Seller's email address: DavidPHumes at Gmail dot com Asking Price: $5,500 OBO Hey guys and gals, I'm throwing this up for sale for my dad. The car had the top vandalized a couple of years ago and my dad's body shop put a new top on. However, the insurance company only wanted to pay for a substandard top, and now a couple years later it has some fitment issues. In order to satisfy the needs of his customer, he bought the car back rather than going through the hassle of paying a shop in their new location (the customer moved) to do the work. Neither of us have a need for the car, thus the sale. The interior is in mint condition and the exterior is nearly flawless. One of the strut towers has a dime sized spot of rust on it (most of these do) and the tires are in mint condition. The interior is grey in color. No curb rash on the tires and no tears in the leather. The top will be fixed prior to sale with a good aftermarket unit. If you are seriously interested and not from the area, I will take DETAILED pictures of every aspect of the car. It is, of course, available for test drive in Duluth. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1312165883 http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1312165761 |

Re: FS (Duluth): 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder (55k miles)
I think ti was just the top. I drove by Humes' shop the other day and this was sitting outside. VERY nice for a silver car. If you are in Duluth you should just swing up and drive by it.

Re: FS (Duluth): 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder (55k miles)
No body damage at all. Just the top. And by the way the top got replaced last week and it fits very well (a nice top with glass vs. plastic rear window).
Thanks for the plug G35 :) I noticed while driving the car the other day that the brakes are pretty bad. We'll be doing them next week. BTW mnnice if you work at Auto Ace you probably know Matt Stauber... he's a good friend. |

Nope. This car has never been in an accident. It was owned by the Alworth's for it's entire life (Alworth's as in the Alworth building downtown). |

Somebody's replaced the muffler or tip with a generic, the non-turbo tip is different than that. All turbo cars did have the dual chrome tipped muffler.

My guess is that it corroded (these often do as far as I know) and the shop that replaced it couldn't find an OEM muffler. |
Re: FS (Duluth): 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder (55k miles)
I'm not saying anything bad about the car, if I didn't already have a DSM, a sports car, and a convertible, I'd buy this. Low mileage, stock DSM's are getting harder to find.
As a sidenote, I had some work done on my car in HS by Humes, excellent work from what I remember, it was a LONG time ago. :D |
Re: FS (Duluth): 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder (55k miles)
Thanks :) We're still doing the same good work!

Re: FS (Duluth): 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder (55k miles)
The car has brand new brakes on it and a full tank of 91. The car is available for test drive at any time. Tires are also like new.
In the interest of full disclosure: one thing I did discover is that the gentlemen who owned it before my father (the first owner) stored it outside in the winter sometimes. As such, there is SOME surface rust. This could very easily be grinded off and recoated. In my opinion, the person who purchases this car should do it because it's such a prime example. |
