New FP Black HTA82 for Evo 8/9--biggest bolt-on turbo yet!
Key points:
-spools ever-so-slightly later than the standard FP Evo Red (hta76 comp wheel) -vastly improved spool compared to a regular hta82 but with 90% the power due to smaller compressor cover means impressive powerband. 300wtq by 4000rpm. -turbine wheel is 67mm, or 1mm smaller than a standard 35r turbine wheel. -who knows what it'll do on pump gas, but for a high-octane build by someone willing to upgrade the bottom-end, this thing looks spectacular. -already has gone 10.4@134mph on E85. http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-eng...ml#post7631669 Quote:

Re: New FP Black HTA82 for Evo 8/9--biggest bolt-on turbo yet!
DSM guys DO have bolt-ons!
I kinda think its time for FP to ditch the color scheme thing. Its nice, but now the have so many turbos...HTA Green, Red, Black...why not call them the FP HTA EVO73, HTA EVO76, and HTA EVO82, like they have the FP HTA DSM82 now. Bolt-on turbos with accurate sizes in the names. Also, it was said somewhere that this is ONLY a compressor wheel upgrade from the FP Red. The turbine wheel is identical. |
Re: New FP Black HTA82 for Evo 8/9--biggest bolt-on turbo yet!
lol. I agree with you.
But if they made a FP Brown, I wouldn't be mad. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgGe1BOZl0I&hd=1 I guess they aren't the most durable though from what I hear they seem to have issues. (At least on diesels, I haven't heard of many peoploe using them on DSM's) |

Variable vein? Cool, but guys, is it so hard to make your own thread?
|
Re: New FP Black HTA82 for Evo 8/9--biggest bolt-on turbo yet!
Making own threads FTL.
Making every thread OT on style FTW!! ok ok, so when you getting one of these? or are you all turbo'd out? |

Re: New FP Black HTA82 for Evo 8/9--biggest bolt-on turbo yet!
That nuts, so what is the dsm equivalent? the 3082 thing? or 3076?
I think I have finally learned to be done with bolt-on anyway, but then again I don't see upgrading past this setup unless it is terribly flawed. BOT: this turbo looks awesome, how does it compare to yours? pretty similar right? |
Re: New FP Black HTA82 for Evo 8/9--biggest bolt-on turbo yet!
To mine? BBK is ~70mm compressor wheel, this is 82mm! Way bigger.
There isn't really a direct dsm equivalent, because this evo black uses a stock turbine housing, which is twin-scroll. The advantages are pretty obvious on teh bottom-end and mid-range. The closest equivalent would probably be the HTA DSM82, which is what brad is running on his 2G, 500whp @mid30's psi on E85 on what I'm guessing is a mega safe tune since he's still on the stock bottom-end. |
