Did the fenders save a lot of weight? What do you think of a CF hatch and lexan for a street car? |

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
I was thinking of changing cam shafts. I’m currently running Brian Crower 280’s. I was on a shoe string budget when I purchased these. I’m sure that they are a bottle neck. I have yet to research this tho.
I’m thinking of using GSC S3 or Kelford 280’s. I don’t know??? Any DSM’s with experience on cam selection with big turbos, 67mm and up? I would like to improve the Time/MPH or run a little less boost and keep it in the single digits. |
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Oh yea the update. I'm still waiting on Shep to get the new batch of gears in for my TX case. They said that they need a set for the shop car too. I'm patiently waiting, and have been since October.
If it goes any longer I will need to source a factory yoke and 23 spline case to get the car running/racing. |
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Give a call to english if you are considering those GSCs from what I gather they work pretty closely with GSC in developing cams for mitsus.
|
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
I have a factory yolk in a box, let me know if you need it.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
There should be a lot of power left on the table with the BC's, the design on those is old as dirt. I'd also look into the bigger FP cams as well as the GSC's.

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
I run Crower 288's (stage 4). They are degreed in on a 111 deg lobe separation. Max lift I .415" E .398".
With your 2.3 9500rpm and big turbo you will want the biggest cams that will fit. Motors are air pumps and if you can not get air in/out you will be hard pressed to make power. Idle and down low throttle will suffer but the extra power is worth it. It would be cool to see your 1g dyno graph overlaid with my car from the dyno day last year. |

The only dyno graph I have is from the mid 30 psi pull, think it was around 780-790WHP? MAP should easily set up an overlay, they have both files on their PC. Quote:

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Contact english about their brace for T-cases. They should be out now, Jeff bush is making them/head of them. But I know they have a few ready.
I'm gonna explode a case first. |

Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
John's car makes over 800 for almost 2000 RPM, Nice.Yea I remember that MAP sensor issue, before my car broke on the dyno it showed something like 57psi! Haha. My AEM Log showed something around 44-45psi. This chart tells a good story of how F’ing crazy my evo is, period.
|
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
That green run was at 40psi even, and the rev limiter would have been 9800rpm.
|
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Looks like you could match the 1G with the Evo and 500 more RPM and maybe some tweaking. The Evo looks amazing!
|
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
Man threads like this really make me wish I would have held into my Talon just a little longer so I would have time for it. Amazing car. Work looks second too none.

I wish I had a dyno number on the 1G with 40+ psi, I don’t think the 4202R was in its sweet spot yet at 35 psi on that chart. Who knows it’s all speculation anyways...The shit runs 9’s at 155+, I’m happy, I just want a transfer case now…Get it to the MAP event and have fun! Oh and I picked up the S3’s too. |
Re: Mark's 1G Winter Projects
So you are on stock transfer case and non built trans still on Evo?
