Tommorow I am going to Mitsu to go and pick up some parts and was wondering how much lifters would cost me too, since mine like to tick for 10 minutes... thick oil helps but in the winter I cant run thick oils...

So anyway what are the best lifters adn will they fit a 91 awd turbo head? I have heard somewhere that the 1998 lifters have the biggest openings but I may be wrong... are these parts interchangeable with 1G or 2G heads?

1999 turbo lifters...same that the turbo 3/S's use. I believe the '99 lifters have replaced the part # for all year DSM's.

Yea so I went on Conicelli's parts site and the 91 lifters are 30 bucks a piece! $#%^

So thats a negative... as I would need 16 of them... thats around 500 bucks total...

All of them may not tick though but i would want to replace them all.. but if anyone knows which are best Id still appreciate it.

Also do a search about collapsed lifters. The 3g lifters are having a bit of a problem with that. I think the 2g ones are probably the best compromise.

The one shop I used to work at made parts for Eaton. Lets just say that I was not impressed! Their tolerances were terrible.

Thanks guys, I think Im going to stick with my lifters and just run a thicker oil... I think ill go back to Castrol Syntec... because Mobil one is just too thin. Can I run 10-40 in the winter?

There also usually gets to be a burr in the oil hole. Find a drill bit that just fits in the hold from the back side and get rid of the burr. I have a full drill bit set if you want to find the right drill bit (like 116 pcs).

Our valves are made by BBB in Argentina. This same company supplies
Qualcast, Speedpro, Milodon and many other "brands" that don't actually make
valves, but rather have valves made for them just as we do.
They are exceptional.
Darkenhancement (ebay ID) has used a couple sets, A gentleman in Florida
named Fuentes has purchased six sets, he resells them there.
The rest are private parties, (about 50 sets out there now with no
complaints) we also use these in our own machine shop in Portland.
The valve guides are American made in Nevada, the company has produced
Manganese guides for the racing market for 40 years plus. Some of the users
of Domestic guides they produce are Edelbrock, Roush Racing, and Indy
Cylinder heads, to name just a few. I do note there are some India copies
from a company called Ameera coming in now, I do not supply those.
If you are curious about me, I am 60, retired, and have been a
self-employed machinist since I was 17.
