SE take two! Err, make that three!

Well where do I start lets see late last summer after finally getting my car running well on e85 went to over to Kracka house for some cold drinks. Took the car out for a spin one hard pull then a 1/2 throttle onramp and boom! Mods at that time were TB exhaust FP 4R cams intake and manual boost at 34psi...Fast forward to recently to start the rebirth.

Hopefully no internal damage and just replace the cover

Notice the see thru block option I had installed

Kracka 02-28-2011 08:49 AM

Re: SE take two!

Now we just need to pull the head and see if any carnage occurred there too (hopefully not, the spark plugs all came out undamaged). We should have that done this week sometime, then it'll just be preparing until the new engine arrives!

That 10:1 motor is gonna be awesome.
Are you gonna take the T-case apart and inspect it for pieces of metal?

Good luck. I was gonna say aren't you guys cold in jeans and a t-shirt? lol.

LOL the afternoon was still young at that point! The clothes are still in a pile in my closet, but here's how they were when I got home:

LOL only Hughes would verify that his clothes got dirty with a picture. Epic!

Kracka 03-03-2011 07:47 AM

Re: SE take two!

Andrew got the head off last night...just waiting for him to post pics. Sounds like the valves did collide with the pistons but I'm hoping the damage is minimal.

Whoa what the heck happened in #2? lol Let me know if you need to send the head our way sir, we got your core block yesterday and everything looks great in that regard :)

Perkul8r 03-03-2011 10:53 AM

Re: SE take two!

I was gonna ask the same thing. It looks like the piston is rotated.

If needed, what sort of shipping arrangements can me made for the head? Do you use special boxes or totes?

Halon 03-03-2011 04:37 PM

Re: SE take two!

Ha, crooked piston ftw!

Jungy 03-03-2011 07:56 PM

Re: SE take two!

That's the cylinder that the rod let go so the piston was able to turn what ever way it wanted not being held by the rod any more.

For engine yes, heads no. We can certainly get him a label or schedule a pickup if need be.

Mind getting us a rough estimated cost to ship assuming he boxes it up and drops it off at a FedEx location? That Stage 3 portwork looks like it would be a great match for his setup.

Got it taken apart then put back together...transfer case is ready to rock! We also got the head disassembled, boxed up, and on it's way to MAP for rebuild/porting.

PlanoEvo 03-20-2011 02:25 PM

Re: SE take two!

Hotside porting done by PPI hogged out to the max!
