Recommendation for shop to replace clutch

My 98 GSX has a 6 puck clutch that is really heavy and chatters. Since this is my daily driver I want to have a stock clutch installed.

Any recommendations for a local shop to do the install?

Any idea on what to expect for cost?

Thanks for any advice.

Andy

LSE, DB, MAP... they could all do it. Probably expect a clutch job to run 300-400 for labor and flywheel machining. I'd suggest avoiding a stock replacement if you have muc done to the car. Try an aftermarket clutch that isn't such a beast. Like a Southbend unit. I know LSE carried them, and I am sure the other shops could suggest similar setups.

We carry both Centerforce and ACT, please feel free to give us a call for pricing and we can find something that will fit your needs. We also offer very competitive pricing on installation and have a very fast turnaround time.

Thanks!

The Centerforce Dual-Friction is a great street clutch, I loved mine. I bought it used, put 30k miles on it (drag racing, street racing, etc.), then sold it to another guy who is still using it!

Is it secretly made my Volkswagen or something? That's pretty amazing.

Chris

How cheap?

Re: Recommendation for shop to replace clutch

They retail for $505, we would let it go for $300. Pedal pressure is very similar to stock, but can hold additional power if you ever want to.
