Re: Project Corvette

If you can't get a boost log from MAP, post up a video of a 3rd gear pull showing the boost, speed, and rpm haha.

Stroker for all the torques! Man I just looked at the graph again, pretty much over 600ftlb of torque the entire time.

Oh and don't get caught using that ZR4 shifter in MN.

You have pictures of the old pistons? I curious if the piston skirts had any wear on them. From what I have seen the 4 inch cranks on the ls motors like to bash the piston skirts into the cylinder.

I havent even powered on that ZR shifter system haha. I found the instructions so ill have to play with it this spring. Probably good to use the detector when I can.

Ive heard that as well, a lot more travel dropping the piston down into the cylinder, so running high boost on a stroker isnt advised. It also depends what pistons you go with, some have shorter skirts. If I remember correctly stock its 3.622", a 416cu is 4" and the 427 is is 4.125.

I still have the old pistons in a box, they looked great and the other cylinders were really clean. DRM stripped it all down and said besides the valve drop the motor still looked great. Ill dig them out and post pics.

Agreed, then add in the digital readout with even more info and it must be heaven.

Hurry up spring!

New rear NTO5r's came already. Thanks Pat for the coupon deal! Went a step taller (305/35/19), because the old tires were 30 series and they looked too narrow compared to the fronts (285/35/18). The ratio is a bit larger, so hopefully no active handling issues pop up. They are almost the same size right now and it should have been causing errors already. Ill probably drop the car down a half inch or so this spring as well, so its not riding so high.

Hoping to get in the garage this weekend if its nice enough, need to change motor oil, trans and diff fluids as well as get the new alternator in. No real rush as winter is still crappily hanging on.

Those look good. I'll be interested in your reviews, as that's basically the exact size I'd run on my car.

I love the way the nitto r comps look, and hook for that matter. Good choice I hope they treat you well, though any tire will have a tough time with that much power. Going taller should net you some traction gains as well.

Re: Project Corvette

Small update!

Fresh fluids in the trans and diff, new NTO5R tires in one size taller format, and CFKits front lip and side skirts. Shifts so much nicer with the new fluid in the trans.

Also got the vette looking how I always envisioned, but I might have to raise up the front a bit because of my driveway curb. The rear is okay, since the new Nitto NTO5R tires are taller by about 1inch overall in diameter.

Rear tires being taller looks a lot better than the shorter invos, fills it out nicely!
And aero parts look great
