'92 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 313/100

So the time has come to sell the car. First off, as you can tell from the photos the car has been in an accident. Trust me I almost cried when I got in the accident and it was just a stupid mistake on my part in a really bad situation to begin with. Anyway the front of the car hit the side of another car going roughly 5mph and the other car glanced (tbone situation) I am a strong believer in not parting these cars out, that is why I am not doing it. The car drives fine still. However it does track slightly left. I would like to give someone the chance to fix it for way less than what I paid. My price is firm at $2000. Thanks for looking. PM with any questions I will respond promptly. Car is located in Minneapolis.

From one VR4 owner to another....now that it has a fairly large blemish get that sucker back on the rally track where it belongs!

I'm sorry, but that car is not worth $2500. The front end is swayed way over to the left, as you can tell by looking at the fenders. There's an easy $8k in damage there.

Re: '92 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 313/100

$8k? To hang new panels and throw it on a frame rack I was quoted no more than 2k from the highest person. Maaco gave me a quote of 800 bucks for all work if I provided the panels. The car runs perfect. Alignment wise the front is dead nuts. Ask pete on here (polishmafia) he did the alignment about a month ago.

Re: '92 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 313/100

The alignment is dead on for how the car is. I doubt the frame is bent enough to cause problems, since the alignment was not far off at the initial settings - I've seen far worse from everyday DD cars off the street. From what I saw, 95% of the damage is cosmetic.

Thank you Pete :)

The upper rails are bent for sure. And I'd bet the lower rails are also bent a little. Probably mostly infront of the strut towers. I do body work for a living, so I think I might know what I'm talking about. And as far as your Maaco quote, I would never take a car to Maaco for any kind of structural repairs. I've seen some pretty hacked out stuff come from there. I could get a better idea of the damage if you posted a pic with the hood open.

Im not questioning your opinion on the extent of the damage. I just found it interesting how quickly you can give me an estimate by looking at a picture without seeing it in person or under the hood. You usually have to bring it in to get an estimate instead of emailing a picture of the front :) Yes the radiator support is bent yadda yadda yadda. I dont have anything to hide about my car. If someone is interested they will ask more questions and for more pics. I hope we can now move on.

Thanks,
Kevin

I'm not trying to be a dick about it or anything, I just wanted to make sure someone who would potentially buy the car isn't getting in deeper than they were expecting. And yeah, that 8k figure I threw out was probably a little on the high side, but I was just comparing it to other totals I've seen from similar damage.

I did some auto body work in High School and if your shop would quote $8k for that, you are way over priced. Obviously it will need some work on the core support but there is no where near the damage you are thinking.

I don't think this is a bad deal at all considering the rarity of the car and the engine work. Someone who has some autobody experience and looking for a VR4 would be all over this assuming they didn't want a stock car. Hell, a stock VR4 just sold for $4300 on here and most people on here would prefer some engine work.

I don't know the seller, just stating my opinion on the vehicle/price.

I dont know the guy selling the car, but I'm sure that the damage isn't that bad, I went to school for auto body and it looks like a little hammering and body parts. and Im sure that kevin_1g_drummer didnt mean to come off as a bad guy or anything, so lets just get back to the topic, we have 2500 here, do I hear a 3000?
