The Gun Thread

1 Attachment(s)
I figured it was about time. Lots of people have em, or at least like talking about em.

Post what you got, what your getting, where you shoot, what you shoot. Etc.

If you're anti-gun, make a post in the parking lot, we'll be happy to discuss!

Here's a pic to jump start the thread, all my junk getting ready to be cleaned.

1QUICK4 - I take it you're a fan of the AK types?

Edit: Those Hi-Points are kinda cool.I was surprised how good they are for the money, shoot decent and seem to be reliable.I bought 2 of the 9mm's for around $250

Yeah, I bought my .45 Hi-Point used for $75 and it has been good so far. Only jammed twice out of 200+ rounds (both with CVD, that bastard ;) ) probably because it was filthy as hell. I was suprised as hell by the rugedness of that piece. Great gun for the $$$

Hey, that hi point never jammed on me, maybe it just likes me more!

As for the range, theres one in LeSuere. Its just under an hour from my place and its a nice place. Outdoor with several benches. 50 yards on up to 325. $10 to shoot.

Anyone know where I can get a shooting gong?

Re: The Gun Thread

Well I gotta figure Superbowl Sunday is out, so lets make it 2 weeks from that day. Thats the next Sunday I have off. I'd really like to have a gong for that range though, as theres only 1 target holder per 100 yards and it gets REALLY old walking down and back 20 times in a shooting session.

CVD 02-02-2005 03:32 PM

Re: The Gun Thread

Actually, the Superbowl doesnt start until 5:30. Thats plenty of time to go do some shooting (the range closes at 4pm). So if anyone wants to go down there from like noon till 4pm this sunday let me know. I'd be up for it.

I need a Ruger Red Label 12g. over/under

My deer/hog rifle...
Remington 600 Mohawk chambered in .243, Leupold Heavy Duplex reticle 40 wide 3x-9x glass

And the carry gun...

That was the first and only time that it will see a safe. It is now marking the "dirty clothes spot" of my rooms floor. It's a Russian gun here folks. The stock can be used as a hoe for potato farming. In fact, I believe that is the rifles' primary purpose.

THE THREAD IS BACK AFTER A MONTH OF HIBERNATING HAHA!

I've been hunting everything for almost 8 years and I've built up my gun collection nicely I'd have to say for being only 19.

12 gauge semi-auto shotgun from 1940s (damn good condition)
.306 (deer rifle)
30/30 (deer rifle)
20 gauge break action single shot (pheasant gun)
16 gauge (needs new butt)
.357 magnum (never know if you'll see a bear and need to shoot quick!)

JET 06-01-2006 08:55 AM

Re: The Gun Thread

Wow, a .306? I think you mean .30-06 :D

And a 30-30, you might as well throw a rock! That bullet is traveling so slow the deer can see it and step out of the way!

We need to go shooting sometime. CVD, get on that!

I guess I never listed my little collection:

Ruger 10-22 .22 cal
Mosberg 500 12 guage with smooth and rifled barrels
Colt AR-15 Pre-ban .223
Remington XP-100 in .260 (necked down .308) <-- pistol that thinks it's a rifle, for deer hunting

Has anybody been out to ArmoredFire since it changed ownership? I think it's called Bills North now. Anyways, they have a indoor rifle range and I believe they are not as strict about bullet casings as Bill's in Robbinsdale is.

We need a DSMStyle range day!

Yea, my bad, I meant .30-06. And a 30-30 isn't that bad. I've got mine dialed in at 100yrds and I can shoot almost anything within and inch of dead center. Besides, I don't go out and try to shoot the biggest god damn deer from a half-mile away, nothing's ever really further than 80yrds in the woods I hunt in. Every deer I've shot has been with it and I've never hit a bad spot on the deer and always shot only ONCE to bring em' down.

I'm up for shooting sometime if I can every get away from work.
