Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

I built a C7 on the Chevy site and was actually surprised at how low the price is, was like $65k I think. That's still a serious chunk of cash, but a bargain considering the $100k+ pricetag that seems to be the new norm (GTR, Viper, NSX more than likely, etc).

Demand exceeds supply, especially for the Z51, simple as that. I expect to see another price increase come July when they switch over to 2015 model year production.

I couldn't agree more! It is a hell of a car for a relatively bargain price considering the performance and technology you get.

I have my dad's C6 ready for his arrival in Dallas tomorrow! I've done quite a bit since getting it, including getting all the maintenance up to date and giving it a complete interior & exterior detail.

-alignment
-A/T fluid & filter
-rear differential fluid
-engine coolant
-K&N drop-in air filters (early C6's have two air boxes)
-cabin air filter
-wiper blades
-engine oil & filter change
-greased all door, roof, hood, & trunk seals
-lubricated Z51 suspension components
-ran a hard-wire for his radar detector

The styling between the two shocks the hell outta me.

They are drastically different, yet you can also see the similarities!

That really is true, I've had the exact same thoughts. The changes from the C5 to C6 were minor but noticeable and clearly based on the same design. From the C6 to the C7...are you sure this isn't the C8?!

Wow, the C7 looks like the batmobile compared to the C6.

I got to drive my buddy's Rippie modded C5 today, seemed kinda slow compared to my car even with a 16g, but it sure sounded good!

The C5 has a 350hp 5.7L stock; my dad's GTO with the same engine put down 262whp with a K&N intake on LSE's DynoDynamics.

Funny thing is, it's actually a hair shorter than an Evo X!

Thank you!

This was back in 2005 and his is A/T, but 319 sounds very impressive assuming yours is a stock 5.7L!

Vette's feel slower than they are because of the deceptively long gearing too IMO.

Hughes, is your neighbor with the black vette jealous yet? haha

VERY true on the gears! You feel like the car is barely pulling because you're not shifting often, then you look down at the speedo

He is! He was actually over on Wednesday after I got my dad's detailed and kept saying how "Bad to the bone!" these are!

We're going to get together with Andrew and his dad's blue C5 on Saturday for a group picture.
