Fuel pump bracket showed up today, this thing looks so nice I almost dont want to put it on, I got my Magnus V5 with dual rails ordered so that should be here within a few weeks.

Very nice! Still going to run E85 or 98? Get this thing done for this season! Did you line somebody up for your manifold fabrication?

e98 or maybe Meth since this wont be on the street much if at all anymore, but I already bought the ETS 6" intercooler so I'm not sure on that yet

What's nice about the 6-inch intercooler is that air restriction is very low. Even if you ran methanol I would stay with the intercooler. The car is going to be very fast!

Yeah its still a 2.5 inlet/outlet though too, I didn't even think about it when I ordered it but it may not be that much of a restriction anyways.

Me too haha, its taking a little bit of time but once the manifold gets done i'll be able to start knocking it out because all the big money things should be done then. **knock on wood**

Don't leave it at 2.5, I can help modify it . I recommend a 3.5"upper and 3" lower. I like the vanjen hd clamps too! Would you get a 90mm tb for the v5 manifold? Ktuned is a good cost effective tb ( I don't recommend many others).

The fuel pump bracket sure looks like a nice piece. What did you end up doing for the exhaust manifold, front facing?

Yeah I'll probably go that route!

Haven't gotten it made yet, the one in the pics is my old one. But yeah it'll be front facing too!

Well, i'm an idiot. It's already 3" in and out, I'm probably still going to do vanjen's instead of normal couplers. And probably still change the outlet to a 3.5

Re: The Chase For 8's

Made some baby steps, my dual rail v5 Manifold showed up a week or so ago, and I was finally able to source a Ktuned 90mm throttle body (everywhere I tried to get one was backordered) These are the final piece's I needed before I can get my turbo kit started. That's still probably 3 weeks or so out from being dropped off but the progress is starting to show now.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4800/...e3cfccd8_b.jpg

Also got my fuel pump bracket installed, I still need to order the pump/fittings though

Re: The Chase For 8's

Well, a small update, finally got the hood on and got it pushed out into the driveway for a couple pictures before it was dropped off to have the turbo kit made.

I have the parts for the fuel system ordered (minus another set of injectors yet)

Still need to get the rear end installed which shouldn't be too hard, Get a wiring harness so I can start working on that. Order an AEM Dash, and decide on what suspension I want to run and order it.

The goal is to have it running by May if the turbo kit doesnt take too long.

I'd also like to get the front either painted or wrapped to match the bumper the raw aluminum looks like shit IMO. Here's how it sat before we dropped it off (in desperate need of a wash)

I wouldn't worry about the 2.3 holding you back. I ran my first eight second passes on a 2.3 stroker. If anything it'll help you get used to a lot larger Turbo, due to the extra displacement.

Yeah it should work this year, I was hoping to touch the 170's once all was said and done but I wont be able to rev the thing out to do that, so mid 160's is probably all I can touch this year if all goes well

Re: The Chase For 8's

Well shit, been a while since I posted anything. But this was big leap forward getting the car done. I dropped it off at MadFab in Fargo a few weeks ago to see if they could whip something up to shoe horn this big turbo into place, and needless to say they killed it. This is their off the shelf Turbo Manifold with a minor tweak to fit the Large Frame PTE turbo's.

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/965/4...6eebd0f9_b.jpg31358055_10156226627584098_2731704577278607360_n

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/866/2...ebe120d2_b.jpg20180428_180246

They made the whole turbo kit, Intercooler piping, modified my big ETS 6" intercooler for a 3.5" cold side pipe. and Tweaked the the bolt on support to fit my half radiator where a smaller core once was.

I'm super happy with how it all turned out and cant wait to do the mad dash of trying to get it finished for PG1

Thanks guys! I'm super happy with how it turned out so far. I was working on tearing the rear diff out of my other shell today. Got back late though so didnt get it out yet. Cant get a ball joint to come out to get the axles out so I have to try to go get a pickle fork or something tomorrow, I hope to have the rear diff in tomorrow evening unless I end up getting called into work.

I might order the suspension too, but I need to look around at options a bit. I was going to go with STM Spec D2's but I want to give Boostin a call and see what they recommend

Right on, i'll hit you up if I dont buy some, I was debating on buying them because i've needed them a few times. But i'll definitely keep you in mind if I end up not buying it

I'm going to use 2150 primaries and start with 1000cc secondaries and see where that gets me for fuel this year
