Prez Day fail :(

I did find a fun old timey beer garden in the middle of no where while out for a roofless cruise on Saturday that I stopped in at for a few Coors Banquets. Does that count for anything?

Thank you! I do agree. I think the Z06 Stage 2, and especially Stage 3, splitters are too over-the-top for a street car.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

The car left my driveway for the first time all week this morning and I have good news to report, the splitter clears my apron! I was a little concerned about this, as I did not want to have to raise the suspension.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

This morning I braved the cold (high-30's) and ventured out into the garage to install my new sideskirts to match the splitter. They are ACS Zero1 rockers, which are quite a bit less over-the-top compared to the Z06 Stage 2/3 skirts which I personally find a bit ridiculous. Installation was easy enough; I reused a total of 10 factory bolts and had to drill & rivet about 30 holes total.

I am quite happy with how all the Carbon Flash Metallic painted parts have come together: badges, grille, center caps, splitter, and sideskirts!

Looks good! Better in person im sure, since the dark on white is hard to see, makes them invisible in the small pics haha.

Totally! Phone camera I think has a hard time focusing with the sunlight, bright white car, but then dark colored accents.

Do you ever find your feet brushing/kicking them as you get in or out of the car? I remember that being a big problem with my last car.

The car hasn't left my driveway since installing them, but yes, that happened when pulling the car out of the garage. I'll have to make a conscious effort to be careful, and make sure I remind my passengers to do the same!

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

YAY new brakes! I had the car in this week for it's final check-up before the 3/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty expires (tomorrow) and got a few random things taken care of, a recall, and then the new brake setup. Chevy revised the Z51 rotors for 2017 and will replace the original 2014-16 bi-cast design with the new single piece cast rotors under warranty if they can measure lateral runout out of spec on the original set. I'm not sure what spec is, but they measured my fronts at 1.04mm and rears at 0.42mm which explains the high-speed pulsation.

Old:

New:

Yes, the revised design is 3 pounds heavier per corner, but after 32k miles I'm quite content with getting a new set of rotors for free. While they were in there, I also had them swap out the factory Ferodo pads for Powestop Z26 pads which should be quieter and dust quite a bit less (so far this seem true). Initial bite doesn't seem as good, but I'll let them heat cycle a few times and fully get bedded in before making too much judgment on them.

I could always upgrade to Z06 2-peice rotors, or aftermarket, later on if I get bored and feel like spending money

So what was originally wrong with the 2 piece ones? They just have abnormal wear?
