Re: UBER SS
I forgot to post pics of the installed radiator and cooling fans. Fits well and looks great.
http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G5...o/IMG_8453.JPG http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Bf...o/IMG_8465.JPG Installed a new Stewart Stage II cooling pump this weekend. Very well made and not that expensive as compared to others (Edelbrock :angryfire:). Took a quick look inside and found a nice cast impeller instead of stamped steel. http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-e0...o/IMG_8564.JPG http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-jK...o/IMG_8562.JPG http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-N-...o/IMG_8571.JPG http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-g7...o/IMG_8572.JPG |
Re: UBER SS
If you're having cooling issues, wonder if it might help to have a shroud for the rad/fan?
Looking badass though man! |
Re: UBER SS
The radiator and fans fixed the heat soaking which occurred while driving at cruise/higher speeds. I'm seeing roughly 3400-3500rpm at 60-65mph.
Those are the Zirgo Ultra Performance ZFU14S fans. They pull almost 2800cfm each. The pump was an original GM cast iron unit which is under driven a good bit and didn't pump enough at idle, causing heat creep sitting in traffic. So the rad/fans fixed the cruise temps issue and the pump fixed the extended idle issue while shaving a few pounds off the front of the car. |
Re: UBER SS
Such a clean engine bay, I like. Glad to hear the heat issues are resolved.

Re: UBER SS
Thanks. So far so good on the heating issues.

Whoa, sexy.
I'm still for an LSx and a set of big hairdryers though. |

But, if I ever get the itch, there's enough nice parts in this one that dropping the compression ratio and a cam change could allow for some serious powa! Imagine a 582 on boost!! |
Re: UBER SS
Oh so pretty!

Re: UBER SS
So, I'm kind of an idiot with older stuff. What is it?

Re: UBER SS
Great choice. Nothing can beat a bbc with a big old cam. Plus n/a motors are pretty reliable and constant. Throw some spray on it and shit gets real. That thing should be in the 9s on motor if you can set up right. Please post a video when you get it running.

4-link set-ups like a 55/45 split at minimum, so it's already a little nose heavy. Hoping those aluminum heads pull a little off the front weight, normally they would knock off about 70lbs, but that Dart block throws some back in the mix. |

Re: UBER SS
Wow, you weren't messing around ordering that motor. Geez, she should go real nice. 9's on pump gas!
