My car has slp maf, air filter, bbk throttle body, deleted cats and magna flow exhaust. I hope i can trap 110 mph and run some 12s this weekend. Just hope the clutch holds up. Lol. Going to bring a cooler full of ice and ice the intake manifold in the pits. I know the car has a 160 stat in it but the fans weren't adjust for it. If iam free that weekend maybe I will come out again. Pending on my clutch.

Good luck! What year is your car?

McLeod RST Twin Disc and McLeod flywheel (steel). Added ARP Flywheel bolts, new GM Slave cylinder and pilot bearing and a remote bleeder line. Should hold the power as the clutch is rated to "800hp", so I figure this will hold the end goal of 500/500 at the wheels. When I start to spray the motor years from now I'll have to send this in to get it upgraded to a RXT with Ceramic plates so it'll hold 1k hp as I don't think the organic material will like a nitrous spray; I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Cool. What remote bleeder did u end up grabbing? I'm running the one from Speedway.

Tick Performance.

Everything *should* be here for a August 19th evening - 20th install. I figure the girlfriend flies to Grenada that day so I need something to keep my mind off not seeing her for the next 4 months (last time).

End goal for the season is to crack a 12.5. At 2500rpm I didn't even have enough clutch to get the tires to spin. I could dump it and get them to hop (did that once, whoops), otherwise if I fed it any clutch at all they would grip and I would roll out. As my girlfriend said "you leave really slow"
:rock2:

Launching a RWD manual car is COMPLETELY different than my grip it and rip it days of AWD turbo cars.

Reviewed logs. After looking at the torque curve versus the mph plot over engine speed, I am very confident the clutch was slipping the entire time. Boost is timing advance in power graph. The line that drops down like a spoon is an exaggerated torque curve. The other is mph versus RPM, it should be linear, not jagged like it is.

:rollinglaugh:

I can't wait to see how much power it makes with the clutch in it, haha. I wouldn't be surprised if it makes 350/350.

Are you signed up for the "Team Tick" sponsorship savings program? If not you should see if you can. Some good savings on some stuff. I'm signed up!!

Im happy with my Monster LT1 twin disk clutch and standard steel flywheel and it looks like its cheaper than the RST. Flywheel comes with it.

Nice runs at the track!

Thanks! I was going monster but Amazon has the rst for $675 and flywheel for $281.

Well my Sunday and next week are going to be busy.

Clutch and goodies are here. A "while I'm at it" bug bit me hard on this one, so I'll be designing and fabricating (with the help of a good friend) a "anti-wheel hop" differential brace using SS rods and heim rod ends as well as tying together the transmission and differential. That way when I put the entire assembly back up I won't have to touch it again until I build a differential and am really running sticky tires.

Progress and photos to come this weekend as I tear out the entire drivetrain.

It's been slow going but making progress.

Flywheel was in on Monday with long tubes still in place. :boxing:

Quite a pain to get it past the long tubes, yes they are unbolted but it is just that tight in there.
Clutch was installed next.
First disc installed:
https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...0a&oe=5A156D1D
Using the 2nd disc to ensure everything aligns on torque tube
https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...e5&oe=5A233F28

Twin disc in and torqued:
https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...32&oe=5A186037

And now the current state. Waiting on some heim rods to be welded up for my custom transmission/differential brace as well as my anti-wheel hop traction setup:
https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...c9&oe=5A2D2CFA

Otherwise drivetrain is ready to go back home. I need to install torque tube + transmission + differential in one pass, subframe in a 2nd pass:
https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...f0&oe=5A356332

Hope to have the fabrication parts done tonight and maybe even the drivetrain in and installed.

Man, I hope I never have to tear into my drivetrain, but I'm sure the bug will bite me to upgrade something as well.

Re: Back into the big leagues: Project FRC

Clutch is in and almost broken in. Had to pull apart some of the car again to re-balance it externally. A little math and trial and error and the car is mostly vibration free. Slight vibrations that are from the solid differential setup around 1750 rpm for a brief window (and then around 650rpm, but doesn't do it again at 2850 or 3950 so its a resonance issue, not clutch).
