Well update.

Spent some time working on the car on saturday. Got the side skirts installed on both sides. Wish the previous owner hadn't tried doing it. As the passengerside came out perfect. And i had to re drill location of a hole on the driverside. But they are on.

I also replaced my oil feed line with a new one as well as the fittings.

I ordered a new 02 sensor but didnt install it. The aem wideband is being replaced so I didnt want to wait and have it be discontinued if it turned out my sensor was bad.

I cleared up every oil leak but 1. And its coming from the oil filter housing.

Never worked on that before but I know there is a gasket there. So will order that when I do my oil pan upgrade.

Now onto update on my pos bep exhaust housing. Extremepsi hasn't responsed to a single email since the 9th of april. I called them on friday and was told the guy needed to talk to was out for lunch and that id get a return phone call before the end of the day (which never happened)

However the guy I was talking to was a ware of my emailsnamd said its taking so long because normally returns or exchanges happen through bep. And not them.

I emailed them again today asking to even take store credit as I still need to get my oil pan
But once again nothing back.

Not sure what my next step should be

Well minor update.
-bought all new 300m coils - showed up today
- pained my fog light covers so they matched my wipers amd wiper cowl and installed them, looks great.

And I finally got an email from extremepsi on the 4th saying they'd send out a return shipping slip on the 5th and soon recieving the housing they'd issue a full refund.

However its the 11th and that return shipping stuff hasn't showed up yet. I emailed them this morning asking what I should be expecting in the mail.

I have decided I am going to get an aem digital fuel pressure gauge. And I havent found any clear threads or videos on where to mount the sensor.
I am planning on using the in line -6an adapter for the sensor. But just not sure where I need to splice it in.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

In the feed line between filter and rail is where I'd put it.
Or if you have an aftermarket FPR, put it on the top in place of the mechanical gauge that usually goes there. I'm assuming the sensor is 1/4" NPT and will go right on the FPR. Much easier than splicing in a 1/4" NPT bung.

Edit: I meant 1/8" NPT.

Nice , will go with the fpr route. Will definetely simplify things and save a little cash also.

Small update.

New walboro 450 e85 pump with the new high pressure release
new aem digital fuel pressure gauge
new diaphragm for my aeromotive fpr

Arrived yesterday. Hope to gets some work done this weekend

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

So I installed the new walboro 450 on sunday. And car still wont start or get fuel pressure (regulator is reading 0)

I am at a complete loss. I have an aem fuel pressure gauge which I havent installed yet. As well as a new diaphragm for my apr that I havent installed. (Didnt want to change to much at once)

I unplugged the fuel line and no fuel comes out. I've checked the wiring with my multimeter. I get power all the way to the connector inside the tank that attaches to the pump itself(however i have not tried the other end of that connector as i dont want to open up the wires etc). But the pump doesnt turn on when i power it up via link.

Any ideas on what's else? Only other thing I notice is 3 of my 4 aem gauges dont stay on while cranking where as they used to, and every time the car ever cranked and fired up those gauges stayed on.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

If you unhooked the main fuel feed line and you aren't getting fuel, that's problem #1. I don't remember if the DSM ECU provides a trigger for the fuel pump, or actual power, but it's possible your ECU crapped out.
I remember my fuel pump signal went bad from the ECU so I had to hardwire it to the battery using ignition as a relay to turn it on. The downside of this is if you get in a crash and don't turn off the key, the fuel pump stays on, which is a safety concern. Normally if the motor shuts off unexpectedly, the ECU will also cut the fuel pump signal so you don't burn up in a gas fire.

When you say you have checked power, do you mean the plug at the top of the tank? I also had a problem on my 2g with the wires going bad so I had to replace the plug. It was intermittent and very hard to diagnose. One day it would work, and another day it wouldn't, and I had to ride in AJ's and Peter's cars on a cruise because of it.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

Finally figured it out. While testing the pump while hooked up like normal, only the pump was outside the fuel tank I accidentally bumped the fuel pump hanger against the back seat floor and it turned the pump on real quick. So I tried to reenact it and it happened again. Started to giggle wires and sure enough the positive wire that is inside the "white" connector that connects the plugs from the outside of the tank to the wires inside the tank is loose.

Depending on how far I move the wire the faster or slower the pump runs. The car fires right up when I fold the wires to create contact.

So looks like a new fuel pump hanger in order.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

Well new fuel pump hangar, along with the new Walboro 450 with the high pressure relief installed last night and test drove today.
Fpr at idle went from 42.5 to 60psi. So I have to adjust that once I do a boost leak check.

I also still need to install the new arm fuel pressure gauge. Only thing stopping me is I'm not sure where I'm going to get power from. My poor fuse box under the dash looks like it's just full of wires now.
Wish someone would come up with a power source/bar or something for these cars that you can just plug all your gauges and accessories into one spot.

I still have to tackle the last oil leak from when that lady ran me off the road, but that will be after taxes next year. As I'm going to get moroso oil pan, an oil cooler installed at the same time.

Fingers crossed.

Wife actually sent me pictures today as a surprise while I've been at work she washed and waxed the car and her and my son also detailed the interior as well

Had been parked in the garage for last few months so was definitely in need of a good cleaning.

Got the fuel pressure gauge installed today.

I also took the car to work yesterday. Had a guy a work who drives a 03 v8 mustang with exhaust and intake talk crap all night to me. So on the way home him and I did 2 pulls. And not like it's anything special but was my first race in a long time. And I put bus lengths on him, was seeing 54lbs/min. With just the tune from my hx35. (9.7:1 a/f) tune needs to be reworked lol
