Back to daily fun, New DD
Well after long consideration, I decided to part ways with my honda. Loved the honda, had great gas mileage, nice radio and was very comfortable but it severely lacked on the fun scale. For awhile I had wanted another Evo, preferably an 8 or 9 but they are still ridiculously priced.
Didn't take long to make the decision once I had sat in it and took it for a spin. Plus I really dig the color. 2018 Subaru WRX Premium http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...116_121707.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...116_121654.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...116_121646.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...116_121835.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...116_121838.jpg |

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
That blue looks really nice!
What does the premium package all include? |
Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
Premium package is actually just above the baseline I want to say? I would have had to go to the limited to get the cool stuff like LED lights, leather, and a few other features. But it was another 5k for the limited and at that point 2k more for the STI so I said no to both. This has the cloth seats and only halogen lights.

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
Looks nice! Subaru has really improved their interiors! That thing should be plenty fun as a year-round toy.

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
Looks awesome! Suspension upgrades and DCTC track days?

Going to stay stock for awhile, have yet to actually really get on it. Going to wait a few hundred miles for that I think. I have been browsing the subaru accessory catalog tho! |
Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
Looks good! glad you were able to snag an ambassador coupon! I'm jelly of the updated boost gauge/climate screen.

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
Woooo Matt!! Good choice! I know you're in no rush to Mod a daily, but I'll give you damn near cost on our MAP stuff whenever you need. Also, since it's a 2018 we can get you free stuff for any time you donate for R&D on fitment since 2018 made some changes. No pressure but of course I have to ask. Congrats and enjoy, it's such a fun daily. Hope to go shooting with you this summer again. PS got a new 805 you'll have to try out.

Stock 2018 WRX dyno chart:
https://scontent-dft4-3.xx.fbcdn.net...26&oe=5AE96DE6 As usual, @ stock Subaru tuning... (Growler is what was formerly known as Cobb Tuning - Plano) |
Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
I guess i'm not surprised. Could use some work lol

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
#1 best mod for a reliable Subaru is a tune. Stock Mitsu tunes were overly rich, but overall pretty smooth. Subaru has had these jagged curves with stock tuning for over a decade now which really boggles my mind why they can't do any better.

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
For comparisons sake, disregard the numbers, just look at the smoothness of the curves. These are all on the same dyno as above chart (AWD Mustang).

Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
I was surprised by the torque numbers though. Also what is strange is the 15lbs of boost (16 was stock i guess). but i have read they overboost, mine has shown 17 at one point. Also read on another forum people seeing close to 21 briefly at wot
Those graphs are quite a big difference though. |
Re: Back to daily fun, New DD
Yeah, that is a nice torque spike. Boost is going to vary based on sensor calibration, sensor location, elevation, atmosphere, temperature, etc. Cars typically seem to show a little more boost on the street than they do on a dyno.
