So after going to VIR for the UTCC /Hyperfest event with my son. Got the urge to get to working putting more stuff on the eclipse.
Yesterday I fabbed up the plate for my cut off switch on my break at work yesterday. And modified my gauge pod to hold the Moroso switch.

And don't worry about the gauges. They work fine, taking a picture of them though is like the old computer screens the camera catches them scrolling.

Pretty clean gauge setup, I dig it!

I still have 2 more gauges not pictured which I need to take a full cockpit photo at somepoint to show it all.

Interior will remain black. With the red highlights only being on the steering wheel and possibly soon to be driven race seats and driven harnesses.
They announced there was a new shipment of seats coming with a redesign now that momo owns the driven company. Where it's all black seats with just a driven logo and name.

I kind of liked the old style better - as the grey they had would have allowed me to not have to switch to the black dash. It would have matched the grey one.

They are FIA cert. But my issue... is me. I need to work out to get down to race weight so I fit into them lol. Or at least that's my hopeful motivation to loose weight.

Lol - it's a road race build. No NOS.

Friend at work made up some name stickers for me for free for my helmet.

Ordered up 2 new things today:
1)driven sfI gloves (match my steering wheel)
2)G-loc R16 brake pads front and R10 for the rears.

Per John Freund, UTCC winner with his GSX who was sponsored by carbotech but now G-Loc.
The owner of G-Loc. Is the founder of carbotech pads. He sold carbotech. But retained the allowance to still sell pads using the came compounds as the carbotech pads he created. So these are the same pads as carbotech only labeled now as G-loc.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

I thought that brake pad naming sounded awfully Carbotech-ish! Not sure about G-Loc, but everything Carbotech is holy overpriced. At first they had the C7 market cornered, but now that Powerstop has released pads at 1/3rd the price with similar street compounds their market share has become practically nil.

I just looked up G-Loc pricing and their C7 pad prices are better than Carbotech. I'll have to start pointing the guys interested in Carbotech this direction instead.

Meeting up with Alexii Coulter(1000whp 1g) tomorrow to buy some parts he had horded for a 2g he was going to build.

1)Split motorsports aluminum rear subframe bushings
2)Boston Hatcher rear diff mounts.

The Boston hatcher kit is a nice set up.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

Just happened that I put the car up on stands today to start my suspension install. When I noticed the rear diff bushings were in bad shape. Also found I need 2 new front tires. Found a nail in one. But both are down to the wire on the inside edge.
But what's weird is the entire tire looks perfectly straight across its just the rubber on the round edge that's has to be rubbing on something when it took them off it looked like there was plenty of room as they are only 235's. Need to look further into it as the tires actually had a lot of tread left otherwise.
Sad part is my mindset is well I wanted to upgrade to RPF1 18x9 (or 9.5) and RE71s.
So now may be the time. Hoping a 255 will fit. If not will have to do flares or fender roll.

What offsets should I look into +38 for that size I think is the recommendation?

Dark2g 06-18-2017 07:24 PM

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

Well based off of my wheel setup I think +38 should be good. My wheels are only 8" wide but there is still room. I run a 245 tire and I know that I am not tucked in the wheel well at all but zero rubbing but you will be doing corners. My guess is it will work but it's going to be a very aggressive setup and you probably will be rolling fenders

Did some work on the car today.
-got the rear suspension changed to the new FEAL 441's.
-Bobby Gould upper wishbones installed.

Will say the feal had me a bit confused. And I have no doubt I'll have to adjust each side once I get the car back on the ground to get the ride height set right.
Also took picts of the Boston Hatcher setup and aluminum subframe bushings.

Re: 1997 GSX - DD, RR, and 11's.

Well bummer I hadn't heard anything from "driven" about my gloves that I ordered a week ago and the paypal had gone through.
Well recieved an email back that all products of "Driven" are out of stock and they'll be refunding my my money back. Looks like I'll have to find a different company for safety parts.

And still no word from carbonetics since they said my product was ready to ship 2 weeks ago and final payment was sent

Picked up split motorsports rear diff bushings. For the back of the diff. Probably overkill with the Boston hatcher front dif braces. But they were cheap enough and local.
