2g street/cruiser build

Here we go again on another build thread. This is the girlfriends build and car that I am documenting since she is not on here. Little history on the shell we picked up, originally from Michigan and is rust free with a full cage. The car itself has been sitting for who knows how long and has not been touched really untill we got ahold of it, had no interior and was basically stripped. So far here is what we have done: Stripped engine bay, sanded and resealed then painted, subframes have been sand blasted then powdercoated with solid bushings installed, all new suspension parts with almost all bolts, wheel wells undercoated with por15, full interior installed, and a ton more work. As for a mod list here it is and it will change as time goes on but as for now she is going to run this setup and see what we can do with it.

Engine :
Stock 7 bolt bottom end 97-99 balance shafts deleted
7 bolt head, evo behive springs, fp2 cams

Drivetrain :
Stage 2 bushwacker trans, welded center diff
Act sprung 6 puck clutch
Solid subframe bushings
Solid driveshaft carrier bushings
Solid diff bushings
Enkei RP01 17x8 with mt et streets
Everything else is stock

Turbo :
Big evo3 16g externally gated
2g exhaust manifold
Bnfab side exit exhaust
Tial 38mm wastegate

Bolt-ons :
Evo 3 intake manifold
1g na throttle body
Vrsf front mount
Tial bov
Small battery kit
Avid engine mounts

Fuel :
Pte 1000cc injectors
Walbro 255

Engine management:
Dsmlink v3
Speed density

There more i am missing but for being the girlfriends car this will be a perfect setup for her as she just wants a nice cruiser for nice days with occasional track days and Mexico days.

Nice. Should be a fun year with all the 16G cars out.

Are you planning to take a lot of weight out of the car?

The spare wheel well is already cut out so that shaved some weight, ac is all removed and some small other things.

10s on 7 bolt rods? Man, you will ruin the day for everyone else with oil and engine leftovers all over the track. J/K, good luck with the build!

Nice another Michigan car. My transporter left 40min to go get mine.

Can't wait to see the build thread progress on yours.

16G that is interesting, i just picked up another 16G my self in anticipation of downgrading and enjoying the car more then making all this whp but wrecking transmissions every other race day. Did the car come with the components already blasted or did you do that? I believe you did...where did you get that huge frame blasted? Would be nice to get that done one of tehse days, and upgrade the bushings ect if the car dosnt sell before.

I got them blasted and powdercoated myself then installed the bushings

Got alot of stuff done tonight to wrap this thing up. Got the fuel lines all done and everything hooked up, installed and wired in the aem gauges, installed the jay racing alternator relocation, and a bunch more misc things that needed to be done. Slowly getting there.

Looks good man, who did the welding on the VC for you?

It looks really close.

Fenders, hood, front bumper all mounted up and still have to make a heat sheild for the side exit exhaust. Trying to make this thing ready for the cookout so we are trying to bust it out now.

Well we wrapped up the engine bay tonight, all that is left is fluids and we are ready to start it. We hope to make it to Pg with the car next weekend but it will be cutting it close.

The car is a rollin. Few small things that need to be addressed then we will look into getting dyno time to see what this little 16g can put down. Also in the near future I plan on swapping coilovers in instead of the kyb / megan shock and spring setup we have in it now which sits way to low for me.
