Is it on yet?

Nash 12-31-2003 02:46 PM

Yeah, it's on and the car runs! Now I just need to get a window and a radio.

AJ 12-31-2003 03:04 PM

do you need that center section?

oh yeah
buy my CD player out of my truck. :bounce:

Jakey 12-31-2003 03:11 PM

Good lord that thing in freaking huge, what is it supposed to be able to support horsepower wise?

Shane@DBPerformance 12-31-2003 03:20 PM

427fwhp on Nash's car.

JiN 12-31-2003 03:33 PM

MATCHBX 12-31-2003 04:19 PM

Which window do you need? If it's the passenger side door window I have one you can get.

Halon 12-31-2003 04:21 PM

that has to support more than 427 whp tho, what's its max hp rating?

Nash 12-31-2003 04:22 PM

It's the passenger side rear window. Shane has one on his parts car that I'm going to get. I just need to figure out how to take it out.

It's hard to rate a turbo for a HP number. That depends a lot on the motor size, boost levels, VE, max RPM, etc being used. The compressor wheel in it is rated to flow around 62 lb/min.

JET 12-31-2003 06:30 PM

10's here you come!! I have the same turbo, but with a T04S housing (Shane's turbo). They look like the ticket!

That would be a 14b.

Kracka 12-31-2003 07:40 PM

Dat der is a damn nice turbo! Wanna trade? ;)

A//// Guy 01-01-2004 02:09 AM

Very nice, I want a ride sometime ;)

TheBlizzard 01-01-2004 05:43 AM

Hey Andy now you just need a 2.4 or some NOS to spool that big fucker. :bounce:
Thats a sweet turbo though, when Jet brought his home and showed me I was like holy shit, it makes the 50trim look small when they are side by side.

CRAIG

Yea, that thing is so laggy it's insane. Definately not a streetable 2.0 turbo.

JDM 01-03-2004 03:47 PM

Jesus Christ Nash... I've ordered pizzas smaller than that..

wow. :bowdown"

copper_gst 01-04-2004 03:19 AM

Damn thats huge. Definitely a great addition for under the hood, if it fits!

Oh, it fits, and sounds like it belongs on a semi. :dsmrule:

Nash 01-04-2004 01:12 PM

It fits,it's laggy, but I still love it. Just the sound when it starts spooling is awesome.

Nash 01-04-2004 01:47 PM

The turbo isn't that laggy. I was hitting full boost, 21psi, right around 4600rpms on the dyno. And I wasn't going to post up the dyno results, but here they are.

This pump gas, 21psi, creeping to around 25 by 7500.

If sound is what you need, you should have gotten one of these and saved some $$$. :bounce:

25psi is some high boost for pump gas, what was the timing set at?

Shane@DBPerformance 01-04-2004 02:38 PM

It's still creeping in the upper RPMs. We didn't hit the 25 psi until right at 7500. I was joking about the lag also. It spools much faster than I would have thought. At peak HP I am not sure what boost we were actually at. We had the base timing set at about 0.5 degrees. So we were running around 13 to 18 degrees of actual timing depending on the RPM. The stock timing map trails off in the very top RPMs where we hit max boost. It also starts off low, so we didn't have any problems in the mid-range. We just had to be most careful in the 6000-7000 range where it wants to run the most timing. The creep made tuning a little bit of a pain, hopefully that can be fixed. Should get more interesting once he gets his sheetmetal intake and EPROM ECU, then the power should keep climbing some and we should be able to modify the timing tables in the ECU to what we want.

If you had Andy's car you wouldn't know what to do...

1) Uber amounts of power.
2) Lack of bling.
3) A clutch pedal and manual shifter.

Just playing, Tom... You'll be above stock power some day. ;)

I hope so.

I just really want to get the damn creep fixed. It seems to creep alot more on the street then it did on the dyno. Hopefully the having Mike port the turbo and o2 get's rid of it. If not I'll just have to break down and get a 3" down pipe, and hope that helps.

adam_murphy 01-05-2004 03:04 AM

nash thats F***ing insane!!!!
i bet we'll see huge numbers from you in 04
good luck!

Thanks, but the really props need to go to Shane at Elite. He's the one who get's the power out of all my set ups.

Goat Blower 01-05-2004 03:10 PM

Damn, 400+ on pump, very nice. :bowdown"

Now let's see if Shane can beat that with his little turbo. ;)

Shane@DBPerformance 01-05-2004 03:38 PM

Fuck turbo. All-motor baby!

Nash 01-06-2004 10:10 PM

No more boost creep!
