9 days and counting, will Allan be able to kick the habit this time?

My vote goes towards yes, but there will be at least one temporary breakdown along the way.

I've been smoking 11 years as of Jan 21st 2005. My Lung Feels Great. And tomorrow it will be 10 days and counting.

I feel like he's going to do pretty well this time. But I thought that last time and he did good up until 3 months. It helps that some of the other smokers are quitting (Nash, Mark??), so maybe together they can help each other. :)

I know some people that smoked for 30+ years, that quit... even with people around them that smoked still.

It takes work, and its a hard task...... it will test you very much. are you up to the task or will you fail?!?!?

I've personally never smoked. My dad smoked for about 20 years. He smoked Swisher Sweets cigars. He tried quiting several times along the way but one day he just became firm about it and quit cold. Never smoked a day after that. Didn't use anything like the patch, etc.. He did suck on alot of candies and sweets. He cannot not absolutely stand being around smoke now. I never smoked but i'm the same way. I can't stand being around 2nd hand smoke thus the reason i don't go in bars. I hate smelling like a stinkin' ash tray. Your lungs will appreciate you for not smoking anymore and so will the non smokers. :)

i smoked for like 3 years then just quit cold, didnt smoke for a long time. But when i drink or im out with friends and jazz.. i have a sig here and there. Anywho GL with quiting

Oh shit! Its going to be winter and AJ quit smoking, you all better watch your asses cause he is going to be one crabby mother.

I'm in double digits now! Not cranky yet, so far so good.

The test will be if I can hold out while drinking and playing cards this weekend.

My dad smoked several packs a day. After having a mild heart attack in '95 he quit cold turkey. It's better to stop now and live a longer happier life.

I honestly don't know why some people can't quit because i don't understand the addiction because i've never smoked. Also, because there is no qaurantees on how long you will live while smoking. But IF you knew you were gonna die tommorow because you smoked today, would you quit?

It's more than the Nic addiction. It's having that cig in your hands while driving, it's the breathing motions, it's a lot more mental and physical changes that grown with someone over the years.

I'm waiting till I just freak out due to everything catching up with me. Right now I'm still kinda sick with a cough/cold so I don't have cravings nearly like I normally would. Cause I am constantly drinking water, eating, and taking cough drops.

I walked into SA to grab some pop and chips and nothing else this weekend before hitting up subway. I got home, put my keys in my inside pocket and noticed I had a new pack of smokes. Didn't have a clue when I bought them. Check my reciept for SA and I had just got them, but didn't even remember asking.

I going to have to go a week or so without again soon, My fucking wisdom teeth are getting yanked!
