I'm trying to find a better place than Kazza Lite to download music from. What do you use and can you post up a link?

john 12-20-2003 12:21 PM

Download music...that is illegal (j/k). I used kazaa and sometimes mirc. Dont download anything now though. dont have the patience for 56k anymore.

JET 12-20-2003 01:03 PM

I use WinMX for music. Not as good as Kazaa for programs, but tons of music on it. The best thing is that there isn't any spyware in it! Get it at www.winmx.com

Jakey 12-20-2003 01:08 PM

Supposedly mIRC is safe from the record companies because it fell under some internet protection act back in 1995 signed by Clinton.

Jana 12-20-2003 01:14 PM

I used to get all my stuff there, but it's really hard to get in "que" and then it takes forever. I may have to just go back to that and see if it's any better now.

At-Least-It's-An-Evo 12-20-2003 02:16 PM

Kazaa Lite ++++++ works fine for me.

JiN 12-20-2003 02:52 PM

I used to use WinMX

Matt D. 12-20-2003 02:56 PM

SoulSeek if you're looking for individual songs

Search the internet for IRC XDCC servers if you're looking for newly released albums.

CVD 12-20-2003 03:21 PM

I find Kazaa lite to be far better than WinMX. I get more hits and I find that downloads go about twice as fast.

xrtdac 12-20-2003 03:24 PM

can anyone send me the program of kazaalite?

over aim or msn messenger maybe?

Mike_91_TSi 12-20-2003 04:32 PM

I think Torrents are a much better way to download.

Here is the basic theory - Linky

You would need to use a tracker to be able to download the files. I use BitTorrent++. Download it here.

The best place I find torrents(downloads) at is http://suprnova.org. You can also try http://www.torrentlinks.com

The draw back is you get what is posted. There is no real search functionality that I have found.

This is not recomended for a dial up.

Not true. I have been nailed for Music and Movies. All that happend was they shut down my Service, I called up, denied it and I was back rolling agian. The mIRC is watched more than any other service I think.

I guess I don't download enough then.

LightningGSX 12-22-2003 09:22 AM

I use limewire or kazaa, its been a while though, I don't know how they work these days.I always had the best luck with Limewire. Also if you are willing to look, you can find MP3 chatrooms and get MP3s and movies via email.

Jana 10-23-2004 09:53 PM

Can someone send me a link to download Kazaa lite??

I did search google, but did see any decent sites. I used to have the link saved, but then when we cancelled internet I deleted if figuring I wouldn't need it. (Dumb me).

Matt D. 10-24-2004 12:30 AM

For the love, please do not use Kazaa or anything related to it. I've talked to a handful of people in the past few months who have gotten bad stuff off of there. Also, the music/movie industry is watching Kazaa and other "user friendly" file sharing programs very close.

I still stick to IRC, SoulSeek and Bit Torrent.

A//// Guy 10-24-2004 01:01 AM

WinMX is pretty good as far as spyware and adware. There is none. I dont think think music indusrty is watching it as hard also.

dumb_ricer 10-24-2004 01:40 AM

I have used almost every one and Limewire PROFESSIONAL keyword PROFESSIONAL is by far the best. I didnt pay for it either, I used Bittorrent to get it. Bit-Torrent is by far the best downloading solution for anything illegal. You get full albums instead of songs and it is generally pretty quick too.

Go to google and type in Bit torrent experimental then its the first link, download the client from the primay site. Then go to www.suprnova . org and download away.

Jana 10-24-2004 11:39 AM

I'll try Bit Torrent then. Thx. :)

1QUICK4 10-24-2004 11:58 AM

I've been using BearShare but it has TONS of spyware you have to remove.
I hope its not being watched too closly by the "industry"

john 10-24-2004 12:28 PM

Downloading music is illegal.....

Jana 10-24-2004 12:29 PM

So is driving a car without a cat, emissions, etc...but people still do it.

Super Bleeder!! 10-24-2004 02:50 PM

i also use torrents, gotta love em

At-Least-It's-An-Evo 10-24-2004 03:47 PM

Don't download. Just get it from your friends via AIM or something similar. As for it being illegal, who cares, because I don't buy any CD unless I really really like it and want to support the artist.

Jana 10-24-2004 03:49 PM

There's very few CD's I'd actually buy unless like Cher said, the artist is very good and you want to support them (and you know almost the entire cd will be good). But so many today suck except for a few good songs.

I don't know ppl that listen to my kind of music.....

Nice to see you edited your post when you came up with something more creative to say. I remember the first one saying something like I dont care...

Jana 10-24-2004 04:56 PM

Yeah, I changed it.....

and I don't care.

Super Bleeder!! 10-24-2004 09:26 PM

Re: Where Do You Download Music?

Limewire here too. Up to about 1300 songs and still looking for more. Hear a good song on XM and then go home and download a bunch of songs by them.

I love unlimited downloads for life.
