My New Ride

3 Attachment(s)
1997 Chevy Silverado. The price in the window was $7980 and I got it out the door for $7000. It does have high miles, 161,000 but it will tow a broke down DSM.:D I'm going to take the topper off tomorrow.

Yep nice truck, it was the first one we looked at today. Clean ass interior and the outside is really nice ass well with just the normal little dings that trucks get. And yeah that topper has to go otherwise people will think you are borrowing dads truck.

Re: My New Ride

Grats!!!

now gotta get a trailer or dolly for towing!

Re: My New Ride

Nice. Gonna be weird seeing you in a truck.

Re: My New Ride

Nice. That's a good lookin' truck. I agree about the topper too. They're great to throw stuff back there, but they do look better without.

Re: My New Ride

We have a tow dolly already Enes so that won't be an issue. Now we just need a trailer to tow our snowmobiles.

Re: My New Ride

What kind of snowmobiles do you have?

TheBlizzard 08-11-2005 06:12 PM

Re: My New Ride

I have two (Ski-doo 1999 MXZ700 and a 1996 Artic Cat Jag 440Z) and Andy has a 1999? MXZ440.

Re: My New Ride

cool, I have a 2000 polaris xcsp 700 and my brother has a 95 skidoo formula z 583. We got them right after the season ended and haven't even used them yet.

You bastards... I want a snowmobile again.

Re: My New Ride

I have a '97 Mach Z 800, by no means stock. Used to grass drag it. Sold alot of mods stuff off it and gonna convert it as much as i can, back to stock to try and sell this winter. Had a tad bit over 200hp.

Re: My New Ride

So far I love it! I'm just scared to see what it get's for mileage now that gas is so expensive. The main reason I bought was to tow my sled, which is a 98 MXZx 440LC, and tow all the cars that Jet buys.

Re: My New Ride

Looks like a nice truck. Just be careful. Once everyone finds out you have a truck, they all become your best friend. Especially the ones who only drive cars with little hatchback space. :D

Nice truck... Good choice!

Re: My New Ride

Need some 38 inch tires and a 6 inch lift, but with that aside its a sharp truck, just keep it on 4 wheels.

JET 08-12-2005 12:32 AM

Re: My New Ride

Yeah, it is a very clean truck! It looks really sharp.

That thing will run forever. I just sold a mint 1996 Suburban with 180k miles for $4800. There wasn't a scatch or chip anywhere, it towed perfectly.

Sweet!

Re: My New Ride

I think the only thing I will do to this truck is have Jet make me new exhaust and maybe a Jet Chip. Thanks for all nice comments!

nash...

you should of told me you where looking at a luther store... I could have possibly worked a better deal :( congrats though... looks like you did ok on your own....

chris

Re: My New Ride

Ha ha a better deal? I think the dealership only made 38 dollars on the transaction as it was. They wouldn't have gone any lower on that truck.

Re: My New Ride

Re: My New Ride

And I was going to stop in and say hi to ya too, Chris. The funniest part about this whole thing is I made my offer of $6500. The sales man came back with $6950 and I told them no, that was to much, with tax title and license it was more then I wanted to spend. So the sales man says how about $7000 out the door. I said I'll do that. The sales man came back with ok to sell it at $7000 out the door. Here's the funny part before tax title and license I am now paying $6496 and some change for the truck.

Uhh, no. The big dealerships rarely get in the situation where they have to sell something by unloading it, unless they're going under. It's still a pretty good price though.

Re: My New Ride

Ok well he showed the used car invoice with the money amount that they got the vehicle on trade for and the price they made when Andy bought it. So it must have been a false document then huh? The salesmen said that they are one of 27 dealerships by the same owner so they don't have to get a lot for used vehicles, they just want to move them to make room for incoming trades. So what your saying is that he was giving us a load of shit? I wasn't just making that up, it was the number he showed us once the truck was paid for. So explain that, I would love to hear it.

That document shows an inflated trade-in value because it's against the full price they were asking on the other vehicle, which was marked up heavily. What exactly do you think that salesperson would get paid on a profit of $38? Sales people at big dealerships typically make 30-40% of the net profit, salesmen don't eat when they make $12 on a sale. The market is very slow right now, but it's not that bad.

Re: My New Ride

Who gives a shit what they made. I feel I got great deal on the truck. Considering it books for almost $9000.

AJ 08-13-2005 09:20 AM

Re: My New Ride

Yeah, it's a great deal. Is it just me or has the price or trucks and suv really gone down a bit due to gas prices? It just seems like they can be had a bit cheaper than before.

Andy, you get that topper off yet?

TheBlizzard 08-13-2005 09:25 AM

Re: My New Ride

We took the topper off yesterday afternoon. Looks a lot better.
