I was just curious who else is sick around here. I see that Matt D. posted up that he has the flu. I'm personally going on 2 weeks of feeling like shit and I think tomorrow morning I am finally going to go see the doctor if I'm still not feeling well. Down here at ISU, I think about every 3rd or 4th person is not feeling 100%. All I've got to say is that if you haven't come down with a cold or illness yet, you are damn lucky :fworld:

I am sick of rain. Man I wish it would snow! But we only get 3-4 inches if we are luckey down here all year.

ok back on topic. I am not sick right now but about 2 weeks ago I was feeling like shit too. I heard on the news that this year the flu is really bad.

I've been fighting a cold for about 3 weeks now. This week I feel good, last week was up and down.

I keep popping my Flinestones and it seems to help. That and keeping up on my sleep. :)

I got sick from a guy I worked with on Sunday. He said he got a flu shot a day or two earlier then got sick. I had crap in my chest on Monday, coughing here and there and later in the day at work I started aching. Tuesday wasn't so bad, popped Tylenol Cold and it helped keep the aches away, work wasn't too bad except got physically tired as the night went on. Today (have Wed and Thurs off work) I wake up and fee like utter shit... Back to the Tylenol Cold and a nice nap this afternoon... Gonna pop a night time formula here soon.

A LOT of people getting flu shots are getting sick this year, thats another thing im going to avoid.

I dont do flu shots. I don't get sick very often, but this year has been a bit rough.

I think they made the flu shot too strong this year, thats why people are getting sick from it.

I am not sick and wont be getting the shot. I haven't gotten one in years. Haven't visited the doctor for anything other than stiches in the last few years. I think of flu shots this way, the more people that get the shot, the less likely I am of getting it ;) . This also costs me nothing.

I should mention that I also did get the flu shot back towards the beginning of November :blink:

I didn't get a shot this year. I was sick for a little while a month or two ago. I was kind of sick right after thanksgiving too. I thought I was getting the flu again, but I think it was some bed turkey or something.

Well I went to the doctor today and after having a strep test come back negative, he said that I probably have a really bad cold. If I don't feel better by Monday I have to go back and get a mono test :angry:

Man Im sick of boredom... winter is boring... no one comes to shooters on wednesday so its not worth going.. I wish it were summer.... I like snow and all but until the weekend comes you just dont have anything to do.

What's the ZPack? I've never heard of it....

I don't know the real name (maybe Chris can help me out with that), but it's 5 pills you take. 2 the first day, then one a day for the next 3 days and it clears your cold right up. I got it last year and was amazed at how fast it works. It's in a green "pack". Not a bottle.

yeah the stuff works great! It is an actually pack that you take like jana said. Is great cause you only haft to take it 1 time a day for like 5 days or something... If ask about a z pack they will knwo what it is called for short of the real name.

Zithromyacin is what its called... ussually only for virus's.

No, it's for colds as well. I have known several other co-workers that have gotten it for just a really bad cold.

I didn't know you could catch something over the internet but you must be able to cause after reading this yesterday my throat has been hurting it better not be strep cause I have exams next week then I am out for christmas.

Considering a cold is a virus... (there is no cure)... Zpack is just a anti biotic... kills the bacteria.

Yea after taking it for multiple times in a row for ear infections it doesnt do too much anymore... switched over to some poop tasting plastic gellcaps called omnicef. Works for now..

Yea I do now. I only get them right around October through December... it has to do with allergies and this time of the year... I just started taking zyrtec and its much better, along with flonase. I think Im preped for next year. As now I know what to take and when.

They had me on the stronger zytrec D and I thought I was having a heart attack... it gives you palpitations and heart shit.

that is why you normaly don't ever take the same med 2 times in a row cause you will get immune to it. Normally they rotate me on alot of different antibiotics.

I thought I've been doing pretty well. Usually I get at least a cold once or twice a year and this is the first time I've been sick since this thread was originally started.

Smokers are the ones who seem to get sick all the time. You can add the heavy drinkers to the list also. I haven't had to mis a day of work in the 4.5 years I have been there. I also have not missed school in several years to to a cold or being sick. I think it has a lot to do with your lifestyle...

I was perfectly fine til I stepped foot in WI. Then I came back and after 2 weeks, I might be ok.

I agree on the lifestyle aspect. One of my roommates has been fighting a nasty cold for about two weeks. Combine that with the bar hopping trip a few of us went on last Friday night and here I sit.

I havent been sick this winter yet and saturday afternoon when I was up at the cabin I started getting a sore throat too. And now its just a nice cold witha sore throat... which will probably turn into an ear infection :) haha

Ever since I have started going out and drinking more I have felt 10 times better! Fuck the lifestyle, I've been a smoker as well for 10 years now and up until this year where I had a few cold I never really got sick that much. Maybe once a year and usually it's nothing that would keep me from work. But I had the time so i stayed home so I didn't get others sick.

On topic. I never get sick, I work at a casino and am exposed to everything. So I think I am pretty much immune to anything there is out there.

I have had a runny nose and a cold for the past 3 months. Nothing that keeps me from work, but it still sucks. I can still drink alot of beer.
